I can't speak on how to stop that stuff on MFN, who knows maybe its the same, but in RL I'd always runs flat zone cover 1/2 even 3 if the yardage was medium. Try something like that. Maybe even a blitzing CB

They have been more successful of late. Especially the lead toss. Best way to combat it is to make a rule so you get CB help.

I think that is too much for one play.

If you only get about 60 plays per game, calling 1 play 1/3 of the time seems excessive.

You use a rule that prevents the goaline formation from being used vs the 221 formation, there are several defenses that will work well against the pitch. But, you may also have to cover the Waggle pass out of the 221, which can work well vs the Double LB blitz & CB3 blitz plays. With the new version, you will also have the penalty of over-calling a play, which can happen using rules, so will have to see how it works.
