I was watching a recent game of mine and my opponent kept missing field goals and Extra points so I looked and they had a MLB and WR as their Kicker. So I want to help them and everyone else. You click on My Team go down to Depth Chart click on Auto-set depth chart and click on all for all of them. If you want to use the future ratings you can. Check that box if not don't check it (I would for the pre-season). Then click on Auto-set depth chart. Then you should have the best kicker in the game and won't miss those short extra points!

And then you get my kicker who misses 3 extra points, but can nail a 49-yarder with no problem.

I always do what you're saying though for my gunners, blockers, etc. It gives me a pretty good base to start from and then I'll tweak the placement of each player depending on his individual skills.

There is a known bug in the kicker selection process . Rare as the circumstances may be it's still as the bug. What happened here could fall in to either category but it hard to tell if the user is not commenting on the subject .

That kicker bug is happening to me right now in the preseason I pull my starter and instead of playing my backup kicker it plays a LB who is not in the depth chart as a kicker very frustrating, I wanted to see what I had in both my kickers instead I get to see 1 kicker and a LB. But in the case Mason is referring to it is an owner who has been in MFN for 8 months and has a kicker, he just won't put him in the depth chart.

I am looking at his team right now. It's an allocation with a depth chart set by some one. It looks as he set his chart before aquiring his kicking game. Unless he purposefully / actcidentally benched his special teams unit, but maybe he forgot.

The bug is that if no one is set there the ai ignores the kicker. He has not set a punter either but the punter is punting.

In your case, if I am understanding it right now, play one kicker at both kickoff and kicker in the number 1 slot and the other kicker at the number two slot , in both depth chart spots. They have to be in unison or one will be permanently benched cause technically he started the game at the other.
