Can we fix the cap problems created by the CPU?

Of the 17 open teams only 2 are not under water financially. Now finances is not my strong suit but I've seen it said that this is caused by the CPU.

Regardless of how it's caused, we need a fix. It's becoming an epidemic.

We were spinning . . .

We need one more owner to get the draft underway. Better available choices would attract more owners, and encourage them to stay.

The very first thing I look for in a team that I'm interested in, is the Cap situation....above everything else. I'm not a fan of correcting the previous Coaches, or AI's, silly spending of monies.

For me, I look for: (Top 5)

1. What is the cap like vs do I have enough to re-sign my players in their final contract year as well as draft picks
2. Are the coaches solid, and is there an absurd amount in their final contract year.
3. Draft picks. Did the previous coach sell the team down the river for short-term gain.
4. League activity, is this a league that is steady, or slowly dying.
5. Team talent and age of talented players at key positions.

I really hate the games renegotiation wizard...it's just nonsensical, and leagues can die because of it. There is never a quick fix other than to spam JDB or League Admin for correction LOL.

I have actually picked-up several teams just to fix the finances because I believe in this game.

In MFN16 I even 'accidentally' won the league title with a team I only picked-up to fix its cap. :-)

So....you are saying in your OP, that you think there is an issue, but subscribe to it by taking over cash-strapped teams...thus...endorsing a Cap challenge that you actually dislike ?

I'm confused !

I don't like taking over a bankrupt team, but I have done it because I want to support the game. I'm just hoping that a solution is found.

CUST84, mentioned above, is a great league that, up until recently, had some great competitive teams. I just hate to see good leagues die because of a problem that needs to be fixed.

I agree that the general problem needs addressing but most of the teams in MFN-84 are easily fixable if someone just takes ownership. Simply cutting the very old, poor quality players will recover about 11 of them. The biggest complaint I have with the AIs team management is that it re-signs players with expiring contracts during Free Agency. If the AI would at least wait until the trade deadline before extending expiring contracts most teams wouldn't be negative prior to the pre-season giving new owners a chance to take over a team and make sensible cuts and extensions.

Id be happy if the AI teams just did 1 yr minimum contracts for roster fillings. In active leagues (less than 5 open teams) an AI team shouldnt be able to compete anyways so why burden those teams with stupid contracts. Let the new owners have a good cap, and the ability to cut with minimal dead cap issues.
