I won my first game 13-10. I won my second game as well: 5-3. Five to three? That's horrible. Well, at least it's horrible for my offense. When I look at gameplan and personnel, I see on many of the pages that these numbers don't add up to 100, what am I to make of that? I may not know how to game plan, but I'm good at math ;)

This is my last game: https://badcompany.myfootballnow.com/log/95 can anyone give this a look at tell me what I'm doing wrong? I've gotten the impression that the plays you tell you're team to practice really have nothing to do with what is actually going to be called, that that's coming from the game-plan and its "these numbers don't add up" numbers.

Yes, I've seen seth's posts on evaluating players and game-planning. It's all a bit - overwhelming.

It can be a bit overwhelming! I’ve been playing for a little more than a year now and feel like I’m just starting to feel like I understand how to do things.

The numbers will add up to 100 when the game evaluates them. You can see that it will by copying one to another place. You’ll see that it all comes out as you expect. I’m probably a little OCD and make them all equal 100 on my own.

What's vital with offensive gameplanning is figuring out what you want to do on 1st-3rd downs from a rushing/passing perspective and then broken down figure on the passing (short-medium-long). Peruse your personnel, see what works best for the grouping and then put forth a formula which ='s 100% for 1st and 2nd downs and then your 3rd down attack point strategy.

You get 40 offensive plays. Fall it in line with how you chose to attack offensively; ensuring you have enough plays in each play type (inside run, outside run, short pass, medium pass, long pass) to justify its percentage usage. I could get more into it strategically and it's tricky but that's a basic starting point. :)

I'm the type of person whom would pool from my own experiences and give intricate details from my own strategies, which is dangerous to have it then be used on me. :)

Basically, as you play the game you'll find a handful of inside runs and outside runs which are effective. Keep a close eye when scouting to see which plays those are. Get them in your playbook and then within those sets build pass plays off of it so you have a balanced attack from each formation/set. You'll want to fluxuate your rushing attack from 30-70% on 1st and 2nd downs depending on your personnel groupings, strengths and how you desire to attack the opposition. Most GMs air it out.

Now after you find that Rushing Attack %, you need to fill out the passing % (short, medium, long) for 1st and 2nd downs. (so lets say you went 30% rushing, then you'll need to place 70% divided between the three passing options)

Passing plays work the same way as rushing selections but you'll find far more effective passing ones than those which rush the ball. Streamline and select the best ones for each set/formation and with that you have the basic instructions on going forth offensively without me revealing all the tricks!
