Re: Play Familiarity

  • How important is it?

  • It seems to go up faster for offensive plays than defensive, if it is important, how few defensive plays must you run to get any of them to go up as quick as an offensive play?

  • Some old thread made it sound like there used to be a tab where you could view a players' play knowledge, but that's gone now?

  • I've got a couple of plays with nearly 100% familiarity on offense my coach has never actually called, is this a bug?

  • It is important, but one of a large number of other factors that are equally important.

  • Familiarity improves mostly during training camp, then secondarily during each game sim for plays you scout, then a small amount for each play that you face or execute. The player must be on the field to benefit from the play being called.

  • This tab is still there, but it does disappear if you don't own a team in the league because it is showing that player's familiarity with -your- playbook

  • Because your players will gain familiarity during training camp with your entire playbook, players who have been around a long time will have high familiarity with a large number of plays.

I can see, looking at my second-year players, that familiarity is increasing far faster with offensive plays than defensive ones.

  • Is that why almost-all of my defensive plays stink?

  • How much time does it take for defensive familiarity to increase compared to offensive?
