The penalty was declined by my coaches, giving the defense a touchdown when accepting it would have negated the TD and given me better field position.

I'm not an expert on NFL rules (which this game is governed by). I am a referee on NCAA rules. Looking at the play & game log, my initial thought was it might be dead ball foul. But there would be no need to decline, as a dead ball fouls on a score carry a coaching decision to enforce on the PAT or ensuing KO.

To me, it does look like a bug(?)

I spent a couple hours reading the rules again this morning . I got caught up with some other rules , but couldn't find anything real definitive except that quote above . The situation seems unique , but I think it's straight forward .

The end got to him first and grabbed the qbs mask , and the flag was thrown. Nothing was flagrant or incidental, cause we don't have those options . The other pressure gets to the slowed qb before he reaches his end zone and they force and recover the fumble and proceed for a td.

The offense would accept the penalty from where the original line of scrimmage was and get 15 yards .

Or at least that's the way I see it. I am no ref either so kudos to picking that job. I have always admired refs. Even bad ones !

That, in itself (flag thrown by R for PF/FMM) negates the score...with no other flag on the play, The correct enforcement (NCAA) would be a live ball foul on Team B (defense) which would be enforced from the previous spot (Line of scrimmage), and carries 15 yards and an auto 1st Down.

Again, I'm no expert on NFL rules, or NCAA for that matter LOL.

And yes, Ray....it is a very thankless craft :'(

The issue with the whole situation isn't so much about the rule but that the penalty was declined by my coaches. No coach would decline that penalty, even if the penalty occurred after the fumble but before the TD, you would still accept the penalty and cancel out the TD. I am sure (kinda lol) had the penalty been accepted that the game would have made the correct spot and corrected the score.

But the main issue is with the logic that chooses to accept or decline that penalty to begin with. If declining the penalty gives the other team points, or causes you loss of possession, you don't decline it.

I think you are right on this. As a side, here is a very unusual circumstance whereby a HC declines a penalty which results in the opposition scoring a TD, fast track to 7:07.

Another "declined penalty" situation that needs to be fixed. Holding on the punting team getting declined. If I am not mistaken, in the NFL they at a minimum just add 10 yards from where the plays ends. Or there is the option to make the punting team re-kick. But not in MFN, it just gets declined. No reason that this penalty should ever be declined.

This would be my understanding also.....Team B has options here, and a 10-yard option here can make a huge difference in a tight game.
