The save if release numbers seem to be prorated based off of how far into the season you are. This should be changed to what it is like in the old interface. I believe this to be vital for managing future cap numbers.

I think the old interface is actually incorrect, the base salary is prorated as the new interface indicates.

Yeah, I'm saying I don't like that it is prorated in the new interface. This causes me to have to go into details for each and every player if I want to look at who I might want to cut the following season.

The game engine has always prorated the base salary when you cut a player, the old interface incorrectly told you how much cap would be freed up when you cut them.

You should be able to view the 'contracts' view of your roster and the 'save if release' should be correct.

think he's trying to make it more realistic as that's how contracts work in the NFL, after all it's completely unbelievable that a player would play for instance 14 weeks then you cut him and get his full salary back

If you cut a player after 14 games you paid him his base salary for those 14 games, so they still count against your salary cap - the last 2 games go back on your cap as available space. In the old interface the 'cut player' dialog told you incorrectly that you would get the entire base salary back, but the new interface correctly shows that you paid him for those 14 games and therefore don't get it back.

that's what I was referring to, also the prorated only counts for the current season upcoming seasons stay at the full contract

just be glad JDB doesn't go by actual NFL minimum salary rules, talk about a nightmare when trying to sign FAs during the season to cover an injury

As of 2016 season the minimum salary in the NFL is:
Rookie: $450,000
1 year: $525,000
2 years: $600,000
3 years: $675,000
4-6 years: $745,000
7-9 years: $885,000
10+ years: $985,000
all minimums increase by $15,000 each season

Any player with 2+ years experience can benefit from the veterans minimum rule. They would hit the cap for only $665,000 if signed to a 1 year contract with no more than $65,000 bonus, otherwise (more than 1 year, over $65,000) they hit for full cap value

these are yearly minimums NOT contract minimums

JDB is being VERY nice in allowing $154,000 minimum salaries no matter how experienced the player is......of coarse it could also be because he doesn't want the programming headache too......

Yeah I understand all that, I'm saying I like the way it was in the old interface better(even of it was a bug) because that shows up on he team roster page and gives me a good idea of what I could save cutting them for future seasons.

This non highlighting of wins is really annoying to me in the new interface. I'd really like to see that get fixed.

Not sure I understand ... The winning team should be bolded in the schedules if you have spoilers on.

I don't think he means wins, I think he means highlighting the owners games in yellow. Most of the time, my team's games aren't highlighted on the league page anymore. I've been having this issue for a while.

if you are cutting after end of season though, the "save if cut" will have the full salary amount, and also the "cap cost" shows bonus + salary so that should give you a good idea of who you are spending too much on

For some reason this isn't working on the old interface but it is on the new one - double check to make sure you are logged in, but your games should be highlighted in yellow on the home page as well as in the full schedule view.

OMG!!!!!! My email inbox is once again flooded with reminders, most from days ago. Guess I'm going to have to turn emails off again, or just divert them to spam.
