In lg 75 I have four first rounders next draft and if you go and look at what I have gave up to get those pics it shouldn't frustrate anyone. If anything I might have ruined my team's window of winning a bowl or even making the playoffs.

As for a lot of other leagues and the way first rounders are dealt for 7-10th year players is ridiculous s. I think a simple solution would be making the first round pics as valuable as the players who get drafted there. 1-1 usually is a 2600-3000 player . Making first rounders worth 2000 + would make sense and help this problem.

Not looking at your trades and just going off your comment .. IRL, you don't trade quality, proven players to garner first rounders because the draft is so hit and miss.

Your right, teams dont. Most of the first rounders I've traded for in other leagues the trade will look something like this

In LG 75 your theory is proven to be correct. I went from 14-2 to 8-4 and could of been 6-6 . So I downgraded considerably and it shows. With that's said after the next draft it should make my franchise competitive for the next 5 seasons.

These aren't the trades that are a problem the ones that have a 8th year CB 95 and a 7th year DT for two firsts are the problem. And it is repeated every season , that's what builds power house teams.

You know as well as I do that OL & TEs are not as important as DBs when it comes to a 2000+ meter value.

Instead of worrying about a trade meter, work on a way to fix the blitz happy crowd and blocking. When guys are blitzing and getting 40+ sacks with DE's, thats the real problem. I know they are working on this, just saying this would take care of the "imbalance" in the meter and OLineman.

If they actually blocked they would be worth it .. lol

If it's as easy as calling all blitz to win then why don't you do it? Almost every team I play in any league blitz the majority of the time. It's not the blitzing that makes a team win it's the players being used to blitz and the players being used to pick up the blitz.

Every good owner on this game uses the blitz as a part of their scheme. I would say 7 outta 10 teams I play blitz as much as anyone does. I have seen teams blitz two LBs and a cb every play and get hammered by 50.

Until it's fixed there's nothing you can do about it besides obtaining players who can block and calling the right plays with the a qb mobile enough to get rid of the ball. If blitzing is the key to success then anyone can blitz and win?

I'm pretty sure Punisher blitzes every play and his record speaks for itself and proves one side of the argument, at the same time I can reverse this whole post and argue the opposite as well.

My point simply was that once the blitzing part of the game is more realistic, it would seem to me the meter wouldn't need to be fixed as olineman would be more important. Why you needed to call me out for that is pretty lame.

I dident even think you wrote it. i wasn't calling anyone out. More or less mis understood the post and wasn't looking at the part about lineman and TEs and thought it was meant as trading wouldent be a problem if the blitzing was fixed. I reply sometimes without reviewing it throughly. I apologize. I'm gonna duck outta this thread I'll check back in a month or so.

I don't, not to the extent that makes this an issue.
I hope I'm not being too presumptuous by considering myself a "good owner".

I probably blitz less than or close to the NFL average. The highest % blitzing teams in the NFL are mid 40%.

It's true that blitzing doesn't mean you win...if you aren't a very good owner to begin with.

If you are, it pretty much guarantees you will shut your opponent down and right now there is nothing they can do about it.

I agree that the draft pick values should be more in line with the quality of player you could get with that pick. That doesn't mean the pick values need to change, it could be a change in the player values. Either way would be fine with me (but that opens up another issue with whose weights are used to determine the player value?).

I've suggested this many times, but JDB isn't interested. He wants the pick values to be greater than the value of the player you can get with the pick because the "privilege" of making pick has value, especially with the 1.1 pick.

I disagree with him that ANY draft pick should be worth more than the best possible player you could ever have in the entire league.

I think one thing that definitely needs to happen is a change to the Ai's player weights.

They should be (a) adjusted every time there is a code change and (b) have a player's age play a greater role in the trade value.

The identity of MFN for me is now somewhat blurred, are we trying to play a realistic sim of real football or just looking to play it like Madden for 8 year olds?
In recent months it seems (sadly) the latter is winning folks over, which is not what I signed up for . I will continue to play the game as much as intended, but don't hold much hope of ever winning another championship playing this way.
