Game of the Week

It appears the game of the week is solely picked by which game has the closest spread. For example, CUST-35 has two winless teams playing each other in the game of the week.

There should probably be some other factors involved. Closest spread, league ranking and division matchup should come into play. Oklahoma City vs Triple Threat is clearly the game of the week when taking all of those factors into consideration. There are some other good games, but this is the only division matchup with a decent point spread (which should be less than it is).

Just my two cents; I have zero idea how hard it would be to incorporate the additional factors.

It is the closest spread. I thought about giving heavier weights to better teams, but decided instead to keep it simple for the simple reason that it gives everyone a chance to get a 'game of the week.'

I like the concept and recognition of having a "game of the week". Only thing we need is to get Bocephus to sing the intro!!!

"We got the pig in the ground
We got the beer on ice
And all my rowdy friends are coming over tonight! !!!!"

I like the fact that its not always the hot teams that get the call. I just played a 'game of the week' and both teams are seller dwellers, but it was a good game.

Just quit calling it "Game of the Week", because it's not.

Call it "most evenly matched game" or something.

Calling it "Game of the Week" just makes it seem like the code used to "pick" this game is broken.

I'd rather not see it at all than to see two 0-12 teams hyped as the GOTW just because the spread is EVEN.

We have an Active League in Agent-86... so we have a guy that chooses the GotW Game each week.

Trappings are nice, but being in an Active League takes care of a lot of that stuff.

Disagree, in most leagues there are about half a dozen team that contest the league every season, are you suggesting that these teams have more merit than 2 winless Teams?
Winless teams still play good games, also I think it makes the game more inclusive.

If this was decided after the games were played, then yes. A game between two winless teams could end up being the best game of the week.

But beforehand, there is no way a game between those teams should be billed as the game of the week, aka the most anticipated matchup.
