Re: Injury Festival!

So I've been involved with this simulation for about half a year. Now I have a total of three teams and that is my limit. This simulation is very awesome and because of it, I have no desire to purchase Madden this year.

One important problem that stands out to me is the amount of injuries. Problems with this infect all three of my teams. Even if we have the offensive line, or any other position, misc at 35, injuries happen way too often to young and old players both. Injuries are a real part of football and should be implemented, but seriously can the coders turn down the frequency of injuries a few notches? The staggering amount of injuries that happen is a bit unrealistic.

I find it just right.

I've had horrible spells where I had to cut depth to find FA starters and I've had periods with barely any injuries.

When I won my league last year, injury had ridden me all season, but come playoffs, everyone were all of a sudden healthy. :-)

Phaldun, you're absolutely 100% accurate and others are noticing it, as well.

A. Bryant DE Sun, Jul 28 Arm Questionable for Week 1 at Arizona
D. Hand DE Sun, Jul 28 Arm Questionable for Week 1 at Arizona
J. Wynn DE Sun, Jul 28 Undisclosed Questionable for Week 1 at Arizon

The real life Detroit lions are starting off the season a little thin a dline and they haven’t even played a game yet .

Our injuries are linear across all positions except k p and qb and heavily dictated by fatigue which I s moderated by weight. I would love part to get revised .

Besides preseason I can’t think of a time where I had to sign a healthy FA to replace an injured guy. Except putting one on ir, once.

Taking one small sample, yes you’ll get high numbers, especially with heavier players, but taking an average across all positions all the numbers are low in comparison to the nfl . Frequency, recovery and severity numbers

Lowering the rate will only produce players with monster years. Maybe not the worst thing but guys getting tons of all purpose yards should get injured.

Still I would
Like to play certain guys all game and not worry cause I know an injury is coming

You're absolutely right.

And like Setherick said "WRs playing at RB" should be injured, too.

Any player whom can decide the fate of a game on his own should be injured. Injure 'em all and let the sim do it's own thing.

That and lets have a person who plays competitively in ZERO leagues dictate how it should go.

Brilliant.

I never say much on these things, just try to do the best with what I have! The last few seasons,
I have had to play guys with injuries when I did'nt in the past and only because not enough
healthy players were at hand! A few times this season, there were not enough for a full roster,
I gave up planing and let the AI come up with something, that for me is a problem!

Yes, thank you and I don't want to hear from Lamba's contrarian point of views or Ray's real life stats.

Lets get other opinions.

Keeping higher ratings on the field more often has messed with the base code in the past. That was those inflated draft years. Artificially creating Such a small window for success would create parity as well. That why guys wanted stronger and stronger drafts cause it didn’t matter. So there’s a balance to be found.

How about less of a frequency of injuries but more severe ones as well with quicker healing?

Actually it’s leaner players that are injured more often in real life. You can be a 6’7 217 pound rb here and the durability is the same as a 5’11 player. That tall guy would be riddled with injuries due to surface area and mass ratios. That’s not how the game works here it’s lighter players that avoid injuries to only cause they tire less easily.

So what we actually need is better injury management?

If we had a more NFL-style injury management system, it would be far easier to drop people to IR or similar and have someone fill in for a handful of games after which you cut them again.

Problem here is that players need to be dying to be placed on IR and players opinion of the owner after getting cut means it's basically impossible to give a FA a payday and hope to ever see him again.
