I read the thread on injury cluster bugs and agree, from an intuitive perspective, it seems odd. However, and I'm not trying to be a jerk here at all, but there is a common belief that random events should not occur in groups, otherwise it is not random. Unfortunately this is simply not true.

There are certain, proven, mathematical principles that show that the occurrence of random events is not actually random at all (this is called chaos theory) and events occur based on what is called a poisson distribution and process (ie. weird things happen in bunches). It's actually true! Here is a link to an article that explains that seemingly random events do indeed occur in clusters that make no sense, and a link to wiki's chaos theory:
https://stats.stackexchange.com/questions/109390/how-odd-is-a-cluster-of-plane-accidents
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaos_theory

In short, I don't think there is much that can be done to prevent freak injury streaks. I think the only coding MFN could put into the system is one that says if a team has had 2 injuries to a player group within, say 15 plays, it nulls the 2nd, or 3rd injury to the same player group. However, such coding would undermine what David refers to in terms of having to watch fatigue and conditioning levels which I suspect are deliberately coded to make sure team managers are factoring that into roster management decisions, particularly on offensive lines.

Just my two worthless bits on the subject.

P.S. and, yes, I will complain too if I get hit with such an injury bug cluster of course! lol.

I'm down from 14 to 10 injury designations for next game.

In just 7 games, I've experienced all of these:
- Entire starting OL injured at the same time.
- All 3 C's injured at the same time.
- 2/3 DT's and 2 LDE I'm using at DT, all injured at the same time.
- Both RDE and other DL injuries at the same time.
- 9 injuries at the same time where ALL were to starters.

At this rate, if I make the playoffs, I should be injury free if there is a Just God! >:D

@Lamba:
Don't come near me, I don't wanna catch whatever it is you have ! That's one nasty streak!

Don't get on a plane anytime soon! lol.

I'm 6-1 and should make playoffs, unless I start throwing games.

A bit related to the other topic about WR's playing RB, I find it a bit interesting that I have barely had any injuries to my runners, recievers (only TE's) and CB's (1 injury so far this season).

I've put all my DB's as CB to get more speed as well. Defense playing better this season than last, so it works both ways (more speed => better play)... seemingly. :)

Is that the level of involvement we are going for?

I'm mostly new and starting my full first season.

I assume the answer to that question is "yes"

I assumed it was a conscious design choice to make the game boring when you only have 1 team. The off season seems to be the only interesting part.

The solution would be buying more teams, since they all run at different times...?

There really doesn't seem to be a lot to this game. Just hang around long enough. You'll eventually draft enough good players and then just keep re-signing them. Watch enough games, and then use the magic plays that work.

Just keep hanging around, buy more teams (spend more money).

There's so many things wrong in your post.

Assuming that you'll at some point have a great team because time indicates that you're plauing Madden, not MFN.

The human opponents makes sure that you're not getting off the hook easy. Actually, it's exactly opposite of what you wrote; offseason is the time where you get bored. During the season, you have gameplanning and roster juggling. In the offseason, it's just preparing your 53 man roster for next season.

I have something to do with every team every spin. If I'm not adjusting my game-plan to a particular opponent, I'm adjusting the depth chart and overrides to account for injuries and player performance. Drafts, FAs, trades, and contract re-negotiations are critical to team building, if you want to play at a level above (or below) the "magic plays" That said, I have had a tendency recently to follow the crowd with magic plays and just fiddle with game-plan percentages to run more of them.

18 injury designations to start the season.

Played starters 1221 quarters, low to medium fatigue settings.

At least I have 6 "healthy" ol guys, as opposed to 3 the last preseason game.

Here's to hoping I'll have less injuries in the regular season. :D

Thats almost 8 injuries per game, and what ever was suffered is not completly healed (100) yet. You still have another 13 guys "knicked up".

Low fatigue settings for oline are below 20. They will still get alot of snaps under that setting. I saw one of your injured Gs had 110 snaps in one game, but that might be a typo. Still, 110 snaps in 2 games is alot too. You only need around 100 total snaps to get conditioning up to par before the seasons start. Smaller guys can function with fatigue setting in the low 40s
