4.6 is making players leave

I run the USFL and play in several other leagues, and while it's not a mass exodus yet, people are leaving MFN directly because 4.6 is horrible. I have never had such trouble keeping my league full.

Before anyone says "you can't win in 4.6, that's why you don't like it", keep this in mind. In the last year of 4.5 I lost in the league championship in USFL, the first year of 4.6 I won in the league championship.

I had a better overall experience in 4.5 as my QB set an all time single season TD pass record (USFL was in it's 23rd year last 4.5) and we had a lot of games like Buffalo/Kansas City. Of course winning a championship is better than losing but the same record setting QB had an awful year in comparison.

Compare 1996 (last year of 4.5) to 1997 (first year of 4.6). My team remain virtually unchanged over those 2 years, with pretty much the same RBs, WRs, and TEs. He was the only QB in the league over 4,000 yards and we only had 1 other QB top 3,500.

How is the game going to grow like this??? If this is a case of self sabotage in an effort to get people to quit, it's going well so far, but why not just pull the plug and tell us all to F off?

This was clearly not very well thought out by the powers that be if this was supposed to make the game better. While it would be great if we get things fixed, I'm not expecting anything to be done at all. I just needed to vent, again.

If the 4.6 defenders want to come state your case, go ahead, I don't really care. You won't change my mind about how much this version sucks. At least it will give me something to laugh about instead of being ticked off.

To add further perspective, I won a championship with a QB that threw more INT than TD. In fact every playoff QB had bad stats.

If you haven't already done so, please forward to JDB.

He is unlikely to read this here.

I'm in one league only, I really liked it and I was only focusing on it and my team, but actually with this engine that is a nonsense, OLs with 100 at pass blocking getting destroyed by pass rushers with less than 50 in pass rush, interceptions that happen more than pass touchdowns even for a top QB with top targets, the targets that don't get space even with better rating in route running and speed than the defender in cover and speed, I have to admit that I just check the score and even don't waste my time to watch the games anymore, I have lost interest in my team, I completely don't care, I even don't want to try, I don't know if I will renew my team for next season, that's just crazy that this engine has been released like that, it looks like it hasn't been tested before. But this could only be a temporary problem, but we can't come back to the previous engine, and I guess we will not get a patch or 4.7 before a long time ?

Who cares anymore? He's not going to respond. He hasn't responded to a serious post about 4.6 since October.

The lack of fun I'm having in 4.6 is going to make me leave several leagues until changes happen. The lack of diversity on offense is just grating to me. In USFL I had a rookie QB to protect as his pass accuracy was 25/100 but I started him anyways because he's a stud who needs play knowledge. While running the ball 45+ times and throwing the ball <10 times a game I went 7-9 which is ridiculous. I completely ignored what is the most important facet of offense in today's NFL, throwing the ball, and was rewarded with almost a winning season.

We don't need both teams scoring 50+ points a game but there has to be some kind of middle where people who acquire talented players and devise good game plans get something for their efforts

Everyone who championed 4.6 told me it would bring more parity to leagues and allow newer/novice owners to challenge elite owners. Folks, that hasn't happened in the slightest. In the leagues I'm in, 4.6 has only increased the gap between elite owners and the rest. The same owners who dominated 4.5 are still dominating in 4.6, perhaps even more so.

MFN might be in danger if changes don't happen.

Veteran owners are dominating because there are no game changer plays anymore. Before 4.5, long passes could equalize games. In 4.5, the broken slants could equalize games. Now it's grind and if you can't grind lose.

With all due respect to RaiderGreg who is as good at this game as anyone (and certainly better than I)..

1) Your league is pretty much full so I don't understand the argument..

2) Are you suggesting that your QB, who is not exactly super-elite, had more realistic stats in the last 4.5 season than the 4.6 season?

3) Do you think any player should be able to effortlessly dominate the game like some have?

I would say that the new version has accomplished some good things, silly speed players are far less effective, pass rushing is far more realistic and we are not seeing some of the special teams things so much. These things should help competitive balance. We are not quite up to 2022 standards on the passing game so that probably needs some work although it seems like some are finding ways around some of that. I would say the sky is not falling but that's just me. It would be better if we had some discussion and feedback from management... :)
