Another tough game against the Pack that TB came up short on.
Kinda thought we did enough to win this one,but those 2 long passes for TD`s in the 4Quarter killed us.
Happy how my team played, risked a few players,in the reg season they`d be on the bench, but it`s the play-offs so had to play them,I think they ran out of steam in 2nd half...maybe.
We are down to one set of games to set the table for Super Bowl XI. Another powerhouse went down which leaves 3 powerhouses left and one Wild Card cinderella team that is their first playoff appearance. And what an appearance it has been. Let's get to the scores.
1980 Divisional Round AFC
Kansas City Chiefs 24 Buffalo Bills 17
The Bills gave the Chiefs all they could handle in round 2 of the playoffs. Kansas City was a rested team with a first round bye while Buffalo was trying to do as much damage as they could with hopes of sneaking through to Super Bowl XI. The Bills venture was 1 quarter away leading 17-3 late in the 3rd quarter. That's when the Chiefs went to work. Withe their backs to the wall, they rattled off 18 4th quarter points to move on to the AFC Conference Championship game. Their reward? they will have to face a cinderella team for not only their 3rd meeting of the year but the Broncos beat em in week 13. The Chiefs are going into the game very healthy which is always a good thing.
Denver Broncos 25 Miami Dolphins 3
Cinderella is alive and kickin in Denver. They cruise past a tough and former Super Bowl Champion Miami Dolphins squad. Nobody in Vegas saw this victory let alone the 22 point difference in score. Denver has won 11 straight games going into the Conference Championship game on Saturday. That's including the 27-15 win @ KC. They are a lil nicked up as far as injuries, but it will be all hands on deck against KC.
NFC
Seattle Seahawks 23 Dallas Cowboys 9
The Cowboys were next up to try and take down the undefeated and seemingly unstoppable Seahawks. But Seattle jumped out early and from there they just put their arm out with thier hand on Dallas's heads to keep em at bay like a bully trying to stop his victim from getting his lunch money back. It ended a nice season by the Cowboys that included a division title and a playoff win. Next up Seattle will face a team that just took down the only team to give the Seahawks a scare all year in the Green Bay Packers. Oh yes, do we have a game on store in the NFC.
Green Bay Packers 31 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 27
What an thriller we had in Tampa Bay. A back and forth slugfest for the ages. Two powerhouses going toe to toe and it's too bad somebody had to come out on top. It justifiably was the team that scored last and that was the Packers. With 1:53 left to go in the game Green Bay's QB Miguel Davis engineered and 8 play 75 yd drive that ended with a 34 yd game winning TD pass that left only :50 on the clock. That had some Green Bay fans a lil worried as they knew the Bucs weren't going to go away quietly. But their drive fell short and they only got as far as their own 41 yd line before the clock struck midnight. TV rating for next Sundays game between the Packers and the Seahawks are gonna be through the roof.
Heckuva game Bucs/BAdder, prob would have continued to go back and forth if we had another quarter. Your Davis' 2 drops offset my Davis' 2 picks to go along with a couple of key stops by the Pack defense in the 4th, that was the key in the end, along with Foster being able to get by your CB2, which surprises me for a WR with 69 speed and 46 Bump. He goes against the conventional thinking for a deep threat WR. Fortunately, we didnt get beat up in that one other than Becker's hand, as Seattle is a real tall order to try and upset in the Conf Champ game. My weights have their WR group all at 80+, no wonder my former QB, Sully, is leading the league with a 111 rating, when he was on the Pack he didnt break 80. Goes to reinforce the thinking that no matter how good your QB is rated, it doesnt do you much good if you dont have a strong receiver group included and an OL that gives the QB that little extra amount of time.
BTW, looking at the QB stats for the season shows how tough it is in this league for QBs. Sully had the 111 rating, closest to him was Houston's Lopez with 100. Those were the only 2 to put up 100+ ratings. Next was the Bucs Walker with a 94, the only QB with a 90 rating. Then there were only six starting QBs with 80 ratings, for a total of 9 starters that exceeded an 80 rating. Paydirt is a tough league on QBs.
GG Bronco's/Bnug77. In another Kansas city rainstorm where neither team could get 200 yds.through the air your ground game proved to be too much for us. Your having a great season best of luck to you in the big game. Bring one home for the division...............................MM
Wow! How did we find a way to blow that one. We definitely had our chances. The game fittingly ended with Donald Hall the highest rated WR in the league dropping the pass.
