Nothing about the deal, just curious about the rule of having to have a 1st... Buffalo should have the 1st for the 1985 season after the draft, but until then is left without a 1st. This is allowed I presume?

Not according to a literal reading of the rule (which was once applied to me if you'll recall).

BTW - Does anyone know which league does not permit trades?

Rules state: team owners are not allowed to trade away all three of their first round picks in a single season! Only two of Buffalo’s first round picks were traded away this season!

NCAA does not allow trades, but you need to contact the LA. It was Bryson, not sure who it is now. There are several owners in this league that are also in that one. I will not get into anymore leagues that does not have strict trade rules enforced. That is one of the reasons, I dropped many of my leagues.

Nice trade. Cleveland took some dead cap but unloaded a DB and quickly drafted a replacement while garnering a 1st rd pick to boot!

Thanks. In my opinion this is an example of a very good trade for both teams. I get a player who will be an important chip in my attempt to get back to the big game. Cleveland gets a young player who has a chance to be a similar caliber player plus a building block for the future.

Rule is:

If I or anyone on the CC or anyone for that matter looks at your draft picks page, there must be at least 1 first round pick at all times.

Buffalo and Cleveland broke the rules on this one.
