I know I have lack of experience/changing opinions, but I felt like trading a third round pick was over priced for an aging CB on the last year of his contract. Only reason why I say it is because I learned that lesson the hard way when I traded for an aging WR who was on the last year of his contract. I gave up a ?third? and a young capable player for him and we only carved a 6 win season.

I can't tell you Gdad's motive, other than I know he needs more speed in his backup DB's.

I, however, don't like 3rd Rd picks. You usually end up spending 6M a year for a player that will likely be rated in the mid-70's.

McCauley should give the Vikes at least 3 good seasons, and maybe up to six. As fast as Gdad can turn around teams, that could be two or more title shots before he retires.

If you wish to challenge do so.if not we will respect the boundries that every GM has thier own strategy and weights. A good Veteran CB (1:15) with a lifetime catch alld% 0f 44%, under 40% the past 2 seasons with 6 INT's is worth his weight in GOLD. Gdad will get alot of miles outta this pick. It was a better than average trade. #1 bc both GMs win! Going into the new version things are about to change......................................MM

No, I don't challenge, and I didn't think about the new update. So, he may end up being a valuable player when the new update starts.

All good comments, and again as with most if not all of my trades, I felt it was a win/win for both teams, 3rd & 5th round picks, especially those low in the round, are a crapshoot, Ive had my share of lucky picks that have boomed, but they can also bust. Main thing at the moment, as Bill pointed out, is the Vikes were in dire need of a CB, especially one with more than 80 speed and the payoff will be if he hangs in there for 3-4 seasons and performs similar to his career stats.
