League Admins now have the availability to clear dead cap.
I am proposing that I should clear all dead cap for the five available teams to make them more enticing for a new owner.
Any objections, please respond here. I will give this 24 hours for comment.
As far as other situations for clearing dead cap, I just don't think it is fair to clear dead cap for a current owner who has caused their own situation. If there is anyone who joined in the last season or two and think they can make a case for clearing dead cap that they were burdened with, I will listen. But otherwise I am thinking you reap what you sow.
I think that's all good. I would have liked to have had the opportunity when I took over, but better late than never. Dead cap is a good idea, but it is terribly unfair to new owners.
I'm fine with that as a way to entice new owners. Looking at my team's dead cap for next year... sheesh, $10 million. I usually do better when it comes to managing cap situations.

I'm against resetting cap at any point whatsoever. I would prefer giving up my team to a new player & taking over a train wreck team myself, before I'd go along with resetting a teams cap.
A player, that lives & dies by making trades, makes his own bed by choice & shouldn't get a relief option. I don't see the logic in bailing someone out of their own mess.
The AI signings can be resolved by an experienced owner without having to resort to any of this. This would be the only viable reason to have a cap reset. It should still be discussed prior to happening for the reasons I've stated above.

CR, I agree that clearing dead cap should not be used very often. But look at KC right now? No one wants to take that team with $169M of dead cap next season. This is really the only circumstance where I would use it. When an owner has left the team and to help entice an new owner to take over.
So I cleared the Dead Cap out for KC. Looking at them more closely, they were going to be over the cap next season and had $169M of dead cap. No one would want to take over that mess. This team is much more attractive to a prospective owner now.
The other three open teams will all be well under the cap next season so I am not planning to clear their dead cap.
Kansas City is definitely an attractive team now. They have 8 stud players on the defensive side, 7 of which are really young. They will also will have around $110M for FA next season.
