What do you guys think about an activity limit?

If so what length of inactivity is ok before action should be taken?

And what steps should be taken in case action is needed?

Hard question to answer, if folks are going on vacation and stuff then they should inform the league. But then we have the issue of inconvenient real life issues, births , deaths etc...
I think if someone goes inactive for 10 days (that's 2 working weeks) that's usually enough. However should they return, them maybe look at a way to reinstate them, if they return with say a month. There has to be a limit.

GM's would have to be a pretty big tool not to be allowed back in the league. Multi accounting, cheating or a big problem in some way. We have a board in place to deal with that stuff if needed.

Any GM being reinstated would have to go to the back of the waiting list at the time. If no one is on the list and a team is open they'd be welcomed back if they are in good standing.

We could open up an "Away List" like you mentioned. Many online leagues do this and it works great.

I'd be open to removing a GM who doesn't put himself on the "away list" and fails to at least scout his opponent for 2 or 3 consecutive games. No sense being an absentee GM as it ruins the game for those who compete at least minimally. IF RL takes a GM away for an extended period, he would always be welcome back.

It would be nice to have a setting that you could scout and set a game plan etc in gameplanning.
