Hey Everyone - Remember to sign all of your free agents that you want to keep before the beginning of the off season. Otherwise, you will have to compete for them in open markets. Most of us have had our rosters locked up for a few weeks, but I noticed quite a few players that are going to become FAs when I was doing some proactive trade bait searches.

Speaking of which this is where I want to delay the sim for a day to give everyone time to do their signings and set their strategies for the upcoming year.

Wait til the off-season starts though to keep it organized. If it passes proposal and vote then we can faze it in for the 1973 season. You can also put it up for discussion in the rule discussion thread to get a feel if you want.

This season would be the time to start it. FA should be light again this year. Next year, it'll get crazy as the first half of the draft comes up for FA if they haven't been re-signed (three year contracts).

This year is the worst to start it, this will be where the meat of the teams are made, it will be a huge quantity of free agents while next season will be just a few for high prices.

I disagree. If teams are smart, there should be few if any quality FAs because teams will lock them into reasonable long term deals.

There isn't going to be an influx of 90s no, but there will likely be plenty of 80s and 70s especially veterans. This is where you plug the holes in your roster, no one wants to go into the draft with half a team because they got overbid for 3 days as everyone competes for the same players with no time to fill in decent backup spots the draft won't address.

Rules are already in place for 1972. It would have to be 1973 or beyond.
