Looking for some advice... I have serious salary cap issues this year due to a trade which appearantly accelerated the bonus to this year.
Any advice or tricks that can help me fix the problem.
I know that I can just dump salary but will barely be able to field a team
I also can trade draft picks but if I am heading for a **** season I might as well rebuild.
Are there any hacks available?

First: Try to renegotiate contracts. Mainly those with higher base salary than yearly bonus payment. This should be other way round.
Second: If that doesn't work, cut players and get very low substitutes from FA-pool. This may throw your team success back for some seasons, but gives you time to rebuild a decent team.
I'm willing to work with you as best as I can to help out. Edit: ya. No cap for you next yr as of this post, and mv has done cap relief for new team owners in the past. Last edit: Because he's awesome sauce :P

First sign all your veteran players you want long term to long term deals with this strategy: max the bonus money to reduce the cap value as low as possible. You have too many 50/50 contracts which is inflating your cap. You're keeping these players long term so paying them more bonus will keep their cap number lower.
Second, on the main screen sort players by their contacts. Find all your expensive veterans and cut the ones that make sense to cut. You have an 11 year linebacker with one year left that saves you 30m. Tell him to hit bricks.
Third. Find all your 2 and 3 year players you drafted the past few seasons. Lock them into long term contracts before they reach max potential. Use the 75% bonus on the ones you're keeping long term.

So yes bonus counts against the cap but the game allows you to completely reduce the per year contract to a minimum so you end up paying much less per player. It's been a long standing hack in the game and why veteran players have 100s of millions in cap to burn on FAs each season
When you can lock in your draft picks for a career for less than you spend on one FA it's the only strategy
