The Giants new GM wastes little time in the wheelin n dealin category.

They send franchise WR Tucker and two high quality trenchmen to Carolina for a quality RT and 2 high draft picks. The rebuild begins and Carolina scores big.

For Carolina:

Higgins may be better suited for C/G positions unless he adds some weight. (Carolina now has about 18 OL in camp.)

Hampton a huge upgrade on the DL.

Tucker a huge pickup at WR, which now has 3 pretty good and young WRs..

For New York:

Klatt is a great pass blocking RT, who has been brought in to protect young QB Sullivan.

Maldonado might add some depth to the OL, but otherwise pretty pedestrian.

1st and 2nd rd draft choices: Who knows?

Overall, New York traded 2 and perhaps three good YOUNG players for one good player and two potentially good players. Advantage Carolina for now.

Time will tell whether it works out for New York, which has only one really good receiver left on its roster and a decimated DL now that Hampton is gone. IMO, the best New York can do is acquire in the future through the draft picks two players about as good as the two it traded. A good illustration of the saying "two steps forward and two steps back".
