You could of had the Giants, Coco picked them up the day after you got the Jets. Looking at the transactions and existing players, I can see why you went with the Jets instead. They were a much quicker turnaround, mostly due to play selection, gameplan, rules, and settings. It wasnt as much of a roster rebuild as I previously thought, there were several previous 1st and 2nd round picks that the AI mgr did not let go after their initial rookie contracts and the offense has elite level TE and 2 WRs. The QB you cut, Peoples, had a 106 QBR from the first game. There are still several that I would consider cutting and replace with FAs that my weights have rated 52-62, but nothing major. Your best add has been a real boomer, picked up at the Game 2 sim, DE Stripling. He is now both leading the Jets and tied for league lead in sacks with 8 !! He's a good example of a player with a low default rating (64), but much higher by good custom weights, I have him at 78. For those who do not have custom player weights, PLAYER WEIGHTS MATTER!!! lol
Funny, it looks like Coconut took the Giants the day after I took the Jets but at the time I remember it was the other way around - that the Giants had been taken the day
before I took the Jets? Perhaps not.
There were some good pieces on the Jets, but Peoples wasn't one of them - one game does not a season make. A 36-yo statue with 39 Arm Strength on an expiring contract was not a difficult cut. Stephenson just needed an opportunity. You're right about the TE and WR, and yes there are plenty of changes still to be made but there's nothing standing out in FA from my weights.
Stripling's success is pretty easy to explain - a veteran with great physical skills moved from a position of low impact (DT) to high impact (LDE). Was I expecting these returns? Obviously not! The default ratings show 65 for me, but I have him at 77 at LDE.
