Exactly. That is why they should make the MFN rookie contracts more salary than bonus. I’ve had to hold on to 1st and 2nd round busts just to keep from absorbing a stupid amount of dead cap the first year and even more insanely dead cap the following year.

NFL early 1st round rookie contracts are for 4 yrs and their bonus' start at approx 67% of their base and gradually work their way down. Whatever the CBA has in store for a given year. The article above roughly goes over it.

Pick# 1 by Denver Wampler is at 93% of his base.

Now were at a different cap level and the NFL's #1 pick's base was 30m over 4 yrs with a 20m bonus per that article. So idk how this correlates to what were at. But just going by % MFN is pretty high in comparison.
