GM trading

It seems like there are some "upset" GM's that are gonna oppose every other trade.

Not that it’s required but a rationale sometimes would help the argument. Miami explained why they wanted to go all in on this draft and it made sense to me that they were willing to pay a little more.

It’s hard in this game to convince long standing GMs that a 32 yr old DE and 28 yr old WR are worth a high price. Maybe there is something you see that others don’t? You’ve been around a long time so I’m sure you’re content with the trade. Just food for thought.

Here is my reasoning of why I will at times give high draft picks for older players...they have proven themselves. They have good attributes. I am in 5 leagues in MFN. Pretty much every first round pick I've ever drafted has busted. So I have now problem trading for an established veteran that hopefully will get me 4 years of productivity.

This is not a true statement.

It's best to keep working on a deal if you want to get one done. It doesn't go against either teams trade restriction. So there's no reason to get mad over it. Besides, you guys can have more wheel n deal fun. And nobody in the league loves to wheel n deal more than Carolina.

Dont be afraid to pm the CC when one gets rejected and ask why they voted how they did so you can get a feel for reworking the deal. That's what they are there for. They are not there to torment anyone. They are doing exactly what the CC was set up for.

Two different GMs asked for a review.

If I had a vote I would've rejected it also.
NYG would be getting WR Sigel who hasn't had more than 28 catches once in his career and that was 46 catches for 377 yds and 2 TD's. DE Tilghman is in obvious decline per stats and being able to stay on the field. His injury list is as long as Santa's toy list. They also would be getting rid of a good young SS Shelton with 80+ tackles per season and a career 43.3 Alld percentage. He's had one injury his whole career. But what i did like about the trade is they would've been getting rid of a punter. It's always a good day when you can get rid of a kicker/punter isn't it? lol

The NYG should be able to get a good young player or two for a mid 1st rounder if they like the trade picks for players strategy. Which that in itself isn't isn't a bad strategy. Just gotta find the players for the value or close.

Thanks for feed back. I needed a decent lineman to get to the Qb( there is a reason why Wilbur has had 80+ tackles) and sigel would work to fill in a few different plays with his speed. I believe you can go look on most trades and say A is worth more than B, hopefully this deal will go thru and I can prove a few wrong.hopefully..lol

28 is the kiss of death for a WR’s speed.

I was one of the GM's that asked for a review and I have explained in a PM. Basically, My objection was similar to beercloud's and I shared it with him when I called the trade out....in addition looking at your team you have a lot of player beyond there useful years and nearing retirement...I understand if you are not comfortable with the draft..I have a hard time with trades....Many GM's including myself would be willing to help you with drafting strategy I will of coarse refer you to Greyghosts gripping series that several GM's gave there knowledge to help make the game better....Good luck sir..I didn't mean to ruffle any feathers. Just trying to prevent a bad trade......................................MM
