I don't really understand why some owners wouldn't approve this trade. A young stud DE and a elite veteran CB for that compensation is very fair imo.

So the Trade Committee was tired about all this and approved finally a shitty deal..... I am very disappointed....

I highly doubt that the trade committee would drop their integrity, simply because they were "tried about all this". I would hope they voted in what they thought was truly the right decision.

That's fine. Enjoy the league, guys. I'm out. No hard feelings towards anyone. I just don't wanna be a part of this anymore.

Speaking as a veteran member of the trade committee, I am not tired of dealing with these issues. I think most of you know me well enough to know I take my responsibilities seriously. I voted to approve the trade. I am usually on the other side of the fence in trades like these. My reasoning was: Tampa's GM went into this trade with eyes wide open actually proposing the trade. Jou accepted bc well he was on the winning end. (and you can't blame him. We all know Jou is a traade wiz. The trade while not a good one wasn't that lopsided or coerced. Bingo has stated he doesn't feel comfortable trading and while not a valid excuse it's certainly understandable. Tampa has the minimum # of #1 picks remaining, and I cannot see that any other CURRENT league policy has been broken. I am sorry if this upset people. Especially Crazyrazor, who is one of my favorite Gm's, and I have a long MFN history with. I just couldn't find any actual violation of league rules. I do feel that Tampa's young GM has made some questionable moves concerning the future of the team and the division for that matter. Perhaps someone could reach out and school him in IDK, say, Player weights, or how to pick players in the draft. I don't understand why you would help to improve another team in your own division? but, WTH? I also feel that the situation is worthy of our continued diligence as GM's to monitor future moves by Tampa Bay to address the concerns from other GM's in the division to ensure that the viability of the team and most importantly health of the league has first priority.

One of the things that stands out about Paydirt is the ability for ANY GM to propose a rule change, debate it and then vote on it. So I say gentlemen come up with a change, a set of rules, or simply some more specific guidelines for the trade committee to consider when a trade is challenged. What I can say for certain is that Trade challenges almost NEVER end with everyone happy. We have an issue every season. So rather than get angry, come up with a plan submit it for debate, let's hash it out and vote on it. It may be worth looking at penalties for breaking said guidelines, or a rule prohibiting the rehashing or reuse of players from trades that have been disapproved? Perhaps, once a trade has been disapproved the 2 teams could be barred from trading for the remainder of that season? I cannot speak for all of you, lets fix it B4 we lose more quality people. I do apologize if folks got upset, but I won't apologize for voting my concience. Have a a great camp everyone......................MM

I get what you are saying about the last trade being a lot more even but I disagree with your statement about this guy being a trade wiz. He sent me an offer where he wanted all my first round picks and my starting QB.. it doesn't matter at all what he offered. It doesn't matter that the trade would have been voided for the 1st round rule. It matters that it's an ongoing effort to rip off people who he thinks will be susceptible.

Here's a question. Did Setherick get any trade offers from Jou.. how about Androwski??, or Marinarul... or any other person who's been in the game/league any length of time.. I'm going to go ahead and wager they didn't... because he knows it wouldn't happen. He sends those offers to people who he thinks won't know any better and then engages in conversation with those people to appear friendly. It's the same thing he did with me.

You already lost one person over this.. I can't imagine how many others have left in the past over issues with this Jou.. probably a number you can't imagine as I'm sure some just left without caring enough to tell everyone why... you are about to lose another. Is it really worth it to continue to allow this kind of ongoing nonsense for one person? It's been explained over and over as I can see, he still does it over and over. I'm really flipping confused as to how this is so difficult to fix.

You keep acting as if it was a god awful trade when in fact the details do matter. I was offering Pineda, a near perfect LB that would be a maxed out CB, and even when he retired could be moved to DL to extend his career. I also offered QB Ross Wittingham, a capable QB that would have replaced your QB. Then, I offered 1.12. I expected your 1sts to be late 1sts with your team improving from an 8-8 season to a 9-7 playoff season. 2 late 1sts and 1.25 as well as Nowak. You would have owned 1.12, which means you would NOT have voided the “No 1st Round Picks” rule.

The complete initial offer was Pineda, Wittingham, and 1.12 for Nowak, 1.25, and 2 1sts.

My feeling was that Wittingham would’ve been a downgrade for you over Nowak. 1.12 to 1.25 would’ve been a downgrade for me. Is it crazy to assume that a versatile 27/YO LB who can play literally any position is worth 2 late 1st rounders and can supplement whatever value is left trading Nowak for Wittingham that the 1.12 to 1.25 value didn’t? I personally don’t think so.

Since he's my top division rival, he made it clear, he will not ever trade with me normally.....
P.S. if i will send him my 1st round picks for some old last season players, that he cannot even offer a new contract, he will do it.....

I do. But I reject most of them. I haven't had one that I felt was advantageous for me or fair for both of us. I also don't trade picks for veterans unless my team is desperate (see German league), and I know that I can get the same years of value out of the players that I would have picks.

That said. I wouldn't have vetoed this trade. I just don't think the value is there. I assessed the players fairly in the other thread. The CB has 1-2 years as an LCB left, but never at RCB. And the DE isn't going to change a game plan. So I don't see why you give up a 1, 4 and a TE that could be converted to a 85 SP pounder RB, which is probably his best position since his Route is not great.
