My #1 thought is that each owner wants to run their team their own way, so I don't like challenging trades unless they are over-the-top blatantly egregious. I don't think this trade meets that level at all.
Second, we worry about an owner trading future firsts because they are trying to win this season and then they quit the league. MVRowner just endured two of the most brutal seasons possible with the cap space **** Miami was in when he took over. Two 1-15 seasons. He stuck it out. Now is when he gets to actually build his team. I don't see him quitting this team now that he has like 25 picks in the first two rounds this season. So, in my opinion, his trading future number ones is not the concern it usually is. If it was my team, I would have tried to put late first round picks in there instead of the future ones, but that's just me. MVRowner can make his own choices.
Third, none of this has anything to do with the fact that I have an offer in for the overall #1 pick. Just being up front with all of you. I made that offer before any issues came up with this trade. So if MVRowner accepts my offer, please don't think I am just setting the table to get my trade to go through. The trade meter is in my favor slightly, and I really don't expect MVR to approve, but I wanted to open the door to see if I could get that pick.
