Last time I looked the MFN coaches didnt have any effect on player/team performance other than setting the playbook by the head coach. Has this changed? Because if not, it doesnt matter what the rating or level of your coach is, and why waste time/effort on coaches instead of more time on players. So many times, I see owners/teams doing coach transactions while they ignore horrible players that should be cut and replaced, or during early FA, when they should be bidding on valuable FA players. Ive never cared about a coach poach, I just grab another out of the coaches pool, nbd. And I havnt noticed any effect on the position players or team, Ive won LCs with lower rated coaches as much as higher rated ones.
Just an aside, concerning coaches and for those here who actually watch NFL games. Did you see the Bengals vs Chiefs game? Where it was 4th and 16, with less than 10 seconds to play and the Bengals leading by 2 with the ball around the Chiefs 40. What does the Bengals DC call? A 3 man rush defense, on one of the best QBs in the history of the game no less, Mahomes! I dont know what the metrics/analysis are on 3 man or less rushes, but when you're lead is less than a FG, a 3 man rush against a great or most any pro QB is not and has never been a good idea. I watched my brothers HS team lose a section championship doing that and have repeatedly seen teams lose games doing the same. They even have a saying now, "The Prevent defense will prevent a win !" Its frustrating to see a team, especially if you're rooting for and/or have a bet on them, do that right after they have hurried or sacked the QB with a 5 or 6 man blitz. You give a pro QB 2 or more extra seconds to throw, and you're asking for trouble, especially with less than 2 minutes left with a short lead. SMH
