Not sure I see the logic in this one from the Saints' perspective. A very good young receiver and a future 3rd rd draft choice for a good, but quickly aging center.

I feel like the Saints' weakness is OL. Once they took Imes in the 1st, WR Clark became expendable. Can't deny Douglas' age but in a season where they need to win atleast 5 games, they made a move to improve on their weakness and trade from their strength. Long term it may not have been the best for them but with the situation, they're in now, I can definitely see why they made the trade.

When I am involved in the trade I don't question another team's logic. I can only add that Douglas had been on the trade block for a couple of weeks.

Douglas seems to be still going strong. May get another 4 good seasons out of him. In which time WR Clark will be in yr 9. So it might not be as bad as it seems on the face of it. 3rd rounder was a lil too much though I think. This might be a deal worth watching to see how it turns out.
