Houston Texans 1974

Announcements ;
The Houston Texans have a new GM after a 5-11 récord the previous season in what It looks like the worst division in the PFL. The rookie GM will look forward to giving this team their first winning season in franchise history. The Houston Texans are currently in a great position in the draft to get what they need in this rebuilding process. GM since2001 is looking to rebuild this team through free agency but financially the cap is not there this year so the draft will be a priority for the Texans but the season after they going to let a lot of cash out through free agency. The fans are already worried and questioning will the kid last more than 2 seasons in a competitive league among mans or will he be a bust and get his **** kick...

Houston Texans early draft board will be posted at the end of Free agency week 2

Houston Texans 1974 Free Agency Week 3

The Texans ended week 2 of free agency releasing four players and signing two players ( WR + WLB ) Still a lot of work to do for us. The team have 7 pending contracts and 1 pending cut for week 3. Even though we are trying to make some moves during free agency our cap don’t allows us to do much but we are trying to acquire young decent players for cheap. After week 3 all positions should have a decent player in it. Meaning we can start focusing and go all in when the draft comes. Talking about the draft the following players are on our draft board :

Houston Texans 1974 Early Draft Board
1 - QB Luis Lee
2 - QB Miguel Davis
3 - FS Edwin Hill
4 - SS Mark Porter
5 - MLB Lloyd Raffaele
6 - WR John Huff
7 - DT James Lindsey
8 - WR Albert Thomas
9 - WR George Clark
10 - CB Jimmy Myers
11 - SS - Keith Deason

NOTE
Every Week one player will be erase from the board till the draft begins , which means only 8 players will be on the list for the 1974 Draft first round since we have the 8th selection. Players will be erase from our board depending on our priorities when we looking at who or what positions we need to draft.

1974 Houston Texans Draft Position Needs

Position / Interest
QB / High
WR / Medium
MLB / Medium
FS / Medium
SS / Medium
DT / Low
( This are the main positions we are looking for, so every other position you can look at it as REALLY LOW interest from us )

Pre-Season Game 1, 1974

Houston Texans Vs Dallas Cowboys

Perfect day for football as the Texans face the Cowboys at home. A game that was clearly dominated by the Texans but both teams struggle to find a rhythm , Texans found it in the 2nd quarter by scoring 17 unanswered points after only scoring a field goal in the 1st quarter. after a scoreless 3rd quarter rookie Christopher Overlock sacked the Cowboys QB for a safety to sealed the victory in the first game of the Pre-season ending 22-0 for Houston.

Offense Notable Performance
QB Jason Ward had a decent game with 10 completions on 32 attempts throwing for 173 yards a touchdown and an interception. Also QB Robert Harper took advantage of his 6 snaps completing 3 passes for 75 yards and a touchdown while WR Chad Simpson had 5 receptions for 71 yards. The Texans Stacked O-Line stood their ground allowing 0 sacks. The Kicker also had a good game going 2/2 with 1 40+ and 1 50+ which makes up for a overall decent game by the offense.

Defense Notable Perfomance
The Texans Defense had 7 sacks and 2 interceptions coming form CBs Mark Young and Steven Patrick, it was a good defensive game by the texans who didn't allow the cowboys to stay in the game. Rookie Christopher Overlock who was drafted in the 5th round had himself a very good debut with a sack that turn into a safety late in the game.

Rookie Performances
QB Brian Robles - DNP
RB George Gonzales - 2 ATT 6 Yards 5 Long

Pre-Season Game 2, 1974

Houston Texans Vs New Orleans Saints

Another great day for football as the Texans visit the Saints for their second game of regular season. New Orleans is currently 2-0 after defeating the Texans in overtime 23-17. both defense showed up as they were a total of 18 sacks in the game , 12 of them coming from the Houston D line who is on fire having a total of 19 sacks in the first two game of the pre-season but Houston defense was not the only one showing off in the field , the Saints made sure that Houston running game didn't go anywhere as they hold 23 yards and a devastating 0.83 Rushing average on 28 attempts and punish the Houston O-Line with 4 sacks.

Offense Notable Performances
QB Douglas Socha made his debut with the Texans after being traded and he did alright, Socha and 7 completions on 11 attempts 138 yards and 1 touchdown but also an interception. QB Jason Ward also did alright with 20 attempt and 9 completions for 114 yards and 1 touchdown. RB Michael Perry also made his debut after a trade but he didn't play much. Perry had 1 rushing attempt for 2 yards and 1 rec for a 55 yds touchdown.

Defense Notable Performances
Great game by DT Roger Williams who got himself for 6 sacks and a total of 7 tackles that earn him a spot on the Defense Players Of The Week Board for week 2 of pre-season. Roger had 6 sack of the 12 sacks allowed by the Saints Defense. SS Eric Miller had one interception that gives our secondary 3 interceptions total in this first 2 game of the pre-season which is a good sign for a secondary thats pretty weak in overall talent. CB Clyde Coronado had himself a night with a total of 10 tackles and 3 knockdowns.

Houston Record 1-1 Saints Record 2-0

Houston Will be facing the Rams Next week at Houston and the Saints will be facing the Chiefs at Kansas.

Rookie Performances

WR Jordan Gibbons - 2 REC 55 YDS 1 TD
WR Valentin Billman - 1 REC 18 YDS
FS Edwin Hill - 1 TKL
LT Richard Kula - 30 Snaps 1 Sack Allowed 2 TKL Allowed.

Injuries
RT Williams Warner ( Leg ) 5 Weeks
DT Richard Cross ( Neck ) 3 Weeks.

feedback
Overall Im very satisfied with the way my defense is playing , I know is just pre-season but is better to see your team playing okay than playing like trash, with that being say I'm okay with my defense right now they have been able to perform. I would love to see my offense play better , even though Perry only touch the ball once when it came to running the ball there is no reason for the backfield to average 0.83 yards/carry. my rookies been doing well especially WR Jordan Gibbons , DT Christopher Overlock and LT Richard Kula. I need to see more from our first round pick FS Edwin Hill who I was going to sit down for the rest of the pre-season but 2 tackles in 2 games even though in the first game he got hurt is still really really bad from a top 10 overall pick.
