“What a great season. Our projections were 7 or 8 wins we finished with 9, we will build off that” said gm greyghost. The Cinderella season came to a crashing halt with a 27-18 loss to a winless San Francisco squad, but to hear ghost tell it, the season turned out a success. “We calculated the 7-8 wins off the estimations we would lose to Atlanta and the Giants with Jacksonville being a toss-up. The 3 wins over those teams put us above our estimates, every other game played out according to plan, with the 49ers being the exception.” There were some unexpected surprises with the players themselves.

Starting the year Michael Richardson was slated as the #1 RB but was injured the first 4 weeks. That opened the door for rookie RB Jordan Triplett who could be in consideration for ROY was large as were expectations and he delivered rushing for 647 yards. adding 84 receptions for 562 yards with outstanding blocking and an occasional kick return. He answered the hype that accompanied him and was instrumental in the increased offensive output. He wasn’t the only rookie on offense to step up, joined by 4 rookie offensive lineman Morgan, Pope, Wisniewski, and Bonaparte. There were several occasions all 5 of them were on the field together and they show a promising long-term future. 2nd year QB Mullens increased his overall positive output throwing for career high yardage and td’s, but his completion percentage and QBR went down. He will need to be better going forward or rookie QB Jorge Bishop could take over.

The defense is not spectacular but consistent in a blue-collar way and very good as they ranked 6th in Paydirt. They were led by MLB Pat Henry with 102 tackles and 2 interceptions, WLB Karl Johnson 90 tackles 1 interception, and taking the SLB position in week 5 was 2nd year draftee Bret Stotler 49 tackles 2 int. DE George Johnson acquired from the Titans in the off season brought a new dimension to the front 4 with a pass rush, shown by the 15 hurries. The defense is good, but the front office will be looking in the off season to upgrade especially the aging secondary.

“Yes, we will be active in the off-season. We have limited draft picks this season, but will be 70-80 million under the salary cap. We have high expectations going forward” said ghost. There have been rumors circulating already as there has been talk of RB Richardson and QB Bishop being shopped but are just rumors at this point. The one thing the fans in Los Angeles have learned over the past 2 season is, it is never boring being a Rams fan.

The final report for 78.
