Why are you trading players you drafted the year earlier? I mean he is a solid CB which are hard to come by. Curiosity killed the cat.
Fair question. It a matter of me looking at my team and seeing I need to do a massive rebuild. We won't be competing for the playoffs for three or four seasons. Yes, King will still be really good then, but he will have 5/6 years in until my new core starts to mature and top out. So I am trying to maximize picks in like a three year window to develop a solid team that will be great for six or seven years. (I hope)
And the original trade wasn't King straight up for a first rounder from the Jets. I got a second rounder as well (along with some other assets changing teams). But I figured since the 1 for King got reversed it would be only fair to do another trade like that as to not actually have King yield more than the original trade. But that aint happening now either I guess. Not going to be disappointed if I am forced to keep King.
