GG Arizona. Didn't think I'd make it past this one.

Ive noticed more variability in performance in all of my teams this last season and last couple of months, wondering if jdb has "tweaked" the code? If so, I dont find that as a bad thing, making the outcomes more unpredictable, increasing the upset factor.

GG Seahawks and congrats on a PO season. The Vikes got even for the reg season loss that you pinned on them. The bye week was a good rest and heal.

The Final 4, CC Games

AFC

vcr's 8-8 Patriots vs senna's 12-4 Chiefs, the Pats are fresh off knocking off the favorite Browns who had the best reg season record (14-2) and will face the Chiefs, who knocked out the Titans in a defensive battle, 13-7.

NFC

Bdogs 12-4 Panthers got by Crazy Razor's Eagles, 17-12, and will face GdB's 12-4 Vikings, after knocking jmvida's Seahawks out, 41-10.

I’m sorry, I don’t want to be rude to all the wild card teams because I was in that boat last season, but that is absolutely insane that 5 out of the 6 games were won by a team in the wild card position. I get having occasional upsets but come on, I think that’s a little extreme even for a sim.

I'm just going to chalk this up to being an incredibly competitive league with many great owners. Good wildcard week with close games.

(Check back with me after the next round when the Browns lose to 8-8 NE ;-) )

Checks back after getting beaten by double digit.

LOL, **** the sim.

First downs: Us 20 Them 10
Yards: Us 316 Them 210
Third Down Conv: Us 7/15 Them 3/10

Our first four drives: 40 plays, 228 Yards, but only 14 points as the last drive ends on an interception in the red zone. 5.7 yards per play.
Six of our next seven drives: 20 plays, 3 yards, and a safety

They had TD drives of 34 and 20 yards due to T/O and late game situation.

Gave up a 98 yard KO return for a TD to a FB (after the safety).

Everything went to **** after the INT before the half. It's just stupid how much the sim flips in playoff games due to a turnover.

But seriously, congrats VCR and good luck the rest of the way.

I’ve noticed many sims swing momentum from one half to the other. It would seem this game imploded for you with the safety/kick return. Then the mistakes just compounded from there. Tommy Mac was an absolute superhero in the middle of the pats def in this one, hope he enjoyed whatever slop the lunch lady was serving today.

Most anything can happen and will with a league that has multiple LC winners and high won/loss records, vcr's Pats being a great example.

Gave up a 98 yard KO return for a TD to a FB (after the safety).

Everything went to **** after the INT before the half. It's just stupid how much the sim flips in playoff games due to a turnover.

For those who dont know yet, a RB/FB/TE with 90+ strength, break tackle and ball carry, are the best KO returners. Its not a good simulation of RL NFL football, where the WRs with 90+ speed are the choice, so it could be considered an "exploit". We had 2 players with 3 KOR TDs and 4 more with 2 TDs in the reg season, all RBs with those key attributes. The heavier weight helps to break the tackles.
I use it, as long as league rules permit it, and have alerted jdb to it. There may be a counter, using DL with good speed, tackle, run defense ratings in the middle of the KO coverage. Weight/strength vs blocker. Most if not all of them are right through the middle of the KO coverage team.

In 4.6, you have to be real careful with the pass. I won a close, low scoring game in another league about a week ago where the opposing team had the game won, easily, all they had to do was run, they had 2 pt lead with 1:30 to go, in easy FG range, we had no TO's left. Its 2nd and 10, they called a pass and took a sack, that was followed by another pass play and Int on our 11 yd line! That was followed by a 50 yd pass catch and run that put my team in FG range, we ran the ball as they used up their TO's, and then we kicked the winner and won 10-9. It's a good idea to have a rule that will ensure that you run the ball when you are in 55 yds or less FG range with less than 2 min to go in a game where the score is within a 3 pt range. Depending on how good your FG kick team is. For sure when you are within 45 yds unless your kicker is absolutely horrible.

Plus, you can just catch a bad sim or series of "rolls", especially in the PO's, where it really hurts as you lose and you're done. And it has a higher probability of happening vs a tough competitor like vcr who can gameplan as good as anyone.

Yeah, that was a pretty crappy way to end a season and an example of some of the problems with this version of the game. Halfway through the game, Patriots were starting to clear locker rooms and the front office. Really no reason for the Patriots to have won that one.

Been on both sides of these kind of games, it really isn't fun on either side.

Congrats on the great season Browns / Warthog

GG Carolina. I'm glad Philly kept it close.
Good luck moving forward!
