I hate this game, I legit hate this game. A bounce back season goes to waste and I completely miss the playoffs after a 4 game collapse. I had a top 5 defense this year and despite investing on a top 3 QB, I still had a terrible offense. I went from a great set of tight ends to a healthy scratch. My receivers did absolutely nothing and my backfield is only so good for so long before opponents counter my run game. I know this should be a GG thread but this is the 3rd season in a row that the simulation screws me. Now another season goes by knowing my championship caliber defense has aged and my championship window is closing faster. Let’s see what happens in the 1998 season…
I get the frustration, but I don’t see this “top 5 defense” u keep bringing up. Over 230 points allowed, 14th in yards allowed. Teams pretty much ran the ball at will on you, which almost certainly boosted the pass defense totals, which are the good part of your team stats. there’s some good individual player stats, but maybe a little high in the penalties on the secondary, and all those fumbles from the main “rb” went unrecovered for a -4 turnover ratio. Also not sure how you are game planning your offense, but the passing game was definitely sub par by pretty much every measure.
Not trying to hate, you have a tough road with Buffalo/Hammond still in the division, but cincy, Houston and Indy are all solid players as well. Sorry you lost the tiebreaks, this lineup certainly found a way to implode on you. Maybe too much panic crept into the game planning and ruined what was working? Or maybe not enough adjustment to the tougher opponents in the late season? Don’t give up, this team could be dangerous next year.
