Re: 1978 Season

I can definitely see the controversy that the public relations office of the commissioner is trying to develop, but unless there is an additional OROY award given my ideas are useless.

I actually view the ROY race between 2 players. It has been those two in the running for weeks.

LB Strickland 11 starts, 142 tackles, 2 ints, and 2 ff
RB Triplett 13 starts, 647 rushing yards, 84 receptions 562 receiving yards

In comparison
LB Hendricks 7 starts, 62 tackles, 5 ints

So as you see here, none of these players that played were starters for an entire season and although the LB's numbers are arguably comparable. Interceptions are up, so that is pretty much is a useless comparison on both players. How is it justified that that Triplett is not in the conversation,. What is the value of a reception vs. a tackle?

LB Strickland had an outstanding year. Im sure his sim feelings were hurt cause he has a good case for that ROY trophy to be sitting above his fireplace.

Buffalo had a good season no question, but to give them an award by default cannot be justified. Anyone that looks at the numbers can tell he wasn't the ROY. In upcoming seasons, what is going to happen if a player only plays 5 games and gets injured and in those 5 he is better than everyone else, will he will get MVP? No of course not, because it is numbers based on the entire season, not 5 or 7 games. In regards to sim feelings, I have already shared my creative practice of building individual players their own sim universe and in that universe full time players win awards, not part time.

This has been fun, but I am done talking about this, on to your regular programming.

GG CLE,

Well our season started with a Field Goal kicking competition ,and ends with one.

We just couldn`t move the ball down the field often enough, that INT straight after we intercepted the Browns QB ,really took the wind out our sails.

GG Warthog, your TE Valverde made a lot of key catches at the right time.

Still happy with the season, maybe time for our young QB Walker to start next season.

Looking foward to next years division race, hopefully **** B,Mac & Joumeng will be returning for more fun.

You got your pre-season predictions spot on Beercloud,TB losing in SB...lol

GG BA. Not the prettiest of games with all the turnovers and no touchdowns, but I will take it. As I called it in my interview, turnovers were the key. My QB only threw 1 and we were +2 in TOs. Still in shock that this rebuilding team was able to bring home the title. This has to be my single proudest MFN moment in being able to do this.

(By the way, the Browns have 4 first round picks in the upcoming draft, including the #2 overall!)

Congratz on the championship Browns/warthog!

If this is your team rebuilding, we're in trouble.

No kidding! Great job Warthog!, taking a 10-6 team all the way to the LC, not easy to do and the "sim" must have been with you, along with good play selection/gp. We are def in trouble with you having 4 first rounders (esp a 1.2!) in the upcoming draft, yikes! On another note, would be interesting to track the trades that garnered the extra 3 first round picks, especially the one for the 1.2, to see how the players involved turned out for their respective teams.
