Re: Artificial suppression of backup QBs has to go

Here's why.

https://cust35.myfootballnow.com/box/6325

I added a couple pass plays to the playbook, forgetting that I had the backup QB override into that formation because I was only using it for running plays. The results . . . you guessed it. My formerly undefeated team threw four interceptions just in the first quarter of a playoff game.

That's a little embarrassing for me. It should be more than that for leaving this NERF in the code. SHAME!

Interesting. It's easy to forget something like that. (over-riding a QB into a set you only used for running or one you abandoned awhile back)

Glancing through it, yeah, looks like the sim was determined to jam you for it. Cooter (opposing GM) had a good defensive play to aid in that and the engine pulled up the disadvantage for you. Kept zinging you for that 'decision' and as a deterrent from someone using a 2-pronged QB system. :(

Cooter has a good team. They played well. He's got a good pass defense with a high turnover margin. Congratulations to him, and I hope he wins the championship.

If you take out half the interceptions, leave in the drive killing penalties for me, leave in the dropped passes by wide open receivers, and leave in the drive extending penalties for him, . . . I still DOMINATED that game. I STILL would've won with the fates against me.

Cooter is a master of trading, building up a team and game planning. Tough GM.

You're kicking ***, too and emerging. Strat-ing hard and next generation of a potential elite GM.

Unfortunately, yeah, once that backup QB was in place with those over-rides the sim engine had you designated for a loss. Conference Final, match-up, right?

It would have been extremely difficult to overcome that impediment unless the GM was AI or of lesser ilk. Sorry, man.

Well, IMO, I feel that if Tarquin hadn't gotten waylaid from the backup QB/turnovers, his Boston bunch should have won quite handily. He really did control most of the game.
I appreciate the esteemed opinions expressed about any of my squads and their respective results. However, I must admit,"gameplanning" is not my strong suit. There are alot of you grizzled vets that I know have it way more down to a science than I do. I am always more of a "listen and learn" type from the open forum discussions of all ya'll.

The one thing that has befuddled me (and maybe it is just me) is the absolute lack of Offensive familiarity with certain Defensive play calls/formations when it comes to gameplanning. It seems no matter how much scouting, how many times seen during a game or season, or any success /failure of play outcome , my offenses never become more familiar with defensive schemes! I mean not just low,not just terrible, but at a total zero or even in the negative percentile!!! I don't really grasp how that allows me to compete with any real consistency in that regard?
