Some people just don't have that much self esteem. I think it's time to get out the Ban stick and stop feeling sorry for the cheaters.

I can see it now.. Belicheck wants to resign Brady to a lower contract so he changes his number to 79 and tells him he is the worst OL he has ever seen so Brady then signs for the league minimum... NM him being cut in between and nobody signs him because he is the worst OL in the history of football

I'm not in your head so don't know how aware you are of the situation that spawned this thread. Its my understanding that the 'offender' switched the positions in order to disguise what the players original position was, he was then going to resign them back to those positions, the salary cap NEVER was the issue, that has been assumed by conclusion jumpers.

Are you really bringing in Belichick into this thread?... how appropriate.

Really, it's not necessary right now even to do this, if you're not looking for a player at that position it would slip under the radar anyway, and if there's an AI team in the league he's going to find the player either way. Unless you are checking the transaction log or the free agent listing. This is one reason I want to get a waiver wire system, so those cuts are pushed to the entire league and everyone has a chance to pick up the contract based on their standings before the player even goes to FA. If the player is listed and his position ratings are easily visible, it basically eliminates any advantage to this tactic.

BTW, for you phone users ... unless there's a major setback, the site will be mobile-friendly this Sunday.

I think what users are alluding to is that they want all available FAs served up in a nice neat little column with the highest ratings at the top. Unfortunately it seems that people want to jump on this fella's back and accuse him of cheating when IMHO he's done nothing short of found an expolit which would be available to everyone, as you've said all you have to do is check the transactions log and any wrong doing would stick out like a sore thumb.

Great news about the Mobile update :)

Just for the record, I for one am not calling this cheating.

It's is allowed in MFN, therefore it is not cheating.

Just like tanking is not cheating.
Or trading a newbie your 5,6,7 round picks for their 2nd.

None of these things are "cheating".

I would disagree with adding that into the mix there, that is exploiting a single 'vulnerable' single person, not the entire league. But as you've said (tongue in cheek I'm sure) Its not cheating because its allowed.
I think the hysteria of this lynch mob mentality has completely blown this out of all proportion, if anything been learned, its check the transactions log daily :)

I guess we have a different definition of cheating then. IMO - anytime you take a short cut to give yourself an advantage.. that is cheating. Just because something is possible to be done.. doesn't make it moral. If there is no advantage to changing a players position before cutting him.. why do it?

If this is ok by the developers of this game.. then maybe this game isn't for me.

except for the fact there is really only 3 reasons to do this
1-Collusion ie cheating
2-Cheating the cap
3- cheating the roster limits
In any matter there's no ethical reason for this behavior. It has nothing to do with wanting a nice little list but the fact sitting through 10 -15 minutes of load time every day to watch the free agents get old after a while.
