Version 0.4.3 and the game in general

Here is my positives and negatives for the game and new game engine
First the negatives.

#1 Had to slip this in again :))) Friend or unethical trading to teams that makes no sense private or public. This is an ethical problem not a game engine deal. This affects competition especially when one of the top teams gets top picks from really bad teams then the owner disappears forever. People value players different is what I heard about this but old players about to retire are not worth 1st round picks. That means the top team will always be the top team so why bother is such situations which may fold all the public leagues if people all said screw this and some of the privates.

#2 There is no UNDERDOG factor built into this engine. I mean in the NFL there are upsets. Just because the team is super filled with attributes doesnt mean there can never be upsets. Maybe a good gameplan would beat the great team sometimes.

#3 As we all know Zone defenses are for the most part worthless. Zone is a huge part of the NFL and could make up for not having the best athletes at cb. 0.4.3 does not fix the zone.

#4 I feel the new game engine will only make the best constructed teams better

#5 The verticle parallel running on receivers who do down and ins and punt returners as well was not fixed.

Positives

#I like the additions in 0.4.3 as far as QBs playing to there attributes, fatigue and quicker release times which may thwart some of the teams that heavy blitz.

#2 I like the offensive line pulling that will be an awesome addition.

#3 It sounds good with dbs with tighter coverage and the wrs studder stepping

Negatives

#1 Agree. Furthermore, there are way more trades in MFN than there are in RL. I would favor drastically reducing the number of trades that can be done in a season. (I know, it's way to controversial to implement - but a fellow can dream, can't he?) I would also consider joining a league with severe restrictions on trading.

#2 A good game plan can offset a disadvantage in talent. But the scouting tools need to be more refined to give a significantly disadvantaged team a fighting chance. For example, rather than simply know that an opponent has runs X amount of times on 1st and medium, I'd like to know what specific formations (and therefore plays) my opponent runs in that situation. (Yes, the ability to really scout an opponent currently exists - but who has that much time to devote to "watching game film".)

#3 Does anybody really effectively run any zone defenses?

#4 TBD

#5 Yes, I wish that would be fixed.

Positives

Yes!, yes! and yes!.

What about contracts and cap ?

Actually it's too easy to keep players and sign them for free, I have a QB that have good ratings, that have many throws, great stats, goes in playoff every year, last season I just signed him for less than 3 millions/year.
In an other league, a better QB with better ratings and better career, signed for less than 7 millions/year, both should have asked for almost 20 millions/year.

Same for others positions, I have a top young WR that has been signed for only 6 millions/year, he should have asked ~15 millions/year...

I think the problem is that in the game, players only want a high bonus and don't care if it's for 1 year or 6 years, they should ask for a minimum salary and/or bonus per year, they see no difference between 10 millions $ in 1 year, and 1 million$/year for 10 years.

And the problem with that is when a team is full of top players, this team will always win until they are retiring and so many other owner prefer to leave the league because it's a waste of time to compete here as there is not really competitions. An other thing is that it often happens that there is nobody good to sign in free agency because every good players has been signed for a cheap contract, and we never feel the pressure of the salary cap.

In MFN-85, the draft is over, I have 58 players, and still a 16 millions $ cap room, with 3.6 millions dead money...

Punisher...you have made this thread unreadable for me....noting but long-winded quotes upon quotes of what you like to do.

For gods sakes, respect the forum decorum and allow those posts to be made available in the appropriate place.

I'm not sure I will ever post on here again the way this chap is abusing the forum.

[EDIT] Thank you for cleaning this up, and making it less cumbersome to read.
