I think if the interface improves, recruitment/retention will follow. I've only ever looked at it on my phone once, but I can see that replacing or improving on sliders is a great idea. If this turns into an app there is a whole new and much bigger user base.

There's one thing that's easier on phone that on desktop: Finding who's the next up for a position.

When adding players to a position in depth chart on phone, it ranks your players regardless of position. I've already PM'ed jdb about this ages ago and asked for it to be added to the desktop version too and he said then that it's part of the plan, albeit not high up the list.

After 2 months of phoning, the simplest, best improvement, imhumo, is the ability to input a number vs. random punching/hoping/saving/refreshing with the current system. I honestly only used rules and did r/p slides when I had a shot ton of time at a fast food resturant lmao... and sadly.
No point, too hard to do with a phone but ability to input values vs random "fingerings" would be a radical change that would vastly improve phone use and competition for and from phone only users.
Wouldn't even require a new phone layout...
2 months of phoning made this issue my #1 agenda and #1 want to fix re: interface.
Game costing.
Deterrent to staying.

#2 fix needed for mnf. again, simple, non rewrite for jdb. the depth chart... ugh. please make the players drag-able as on lap/pc.
slide up/slide down. NOT remove all/add all and waste far too much data and time.

Another thing I'd like with the depth chart is if you could make depth chart for different formations or at least for specific ways to line up, for example:

WR outside right
WR outside left
WR slot

I imagine everyone have some guy they'd prefer always line up in the slot, but if there's no slot, they'd want him out wide.

My first season, I had a very slow, but SUPER dependable guy that I tried lining up in the slot at all times and he worked wonders. Now I have a guy who has speed, but others I'd rather have on the outside, if I'm using 3+ recievers.

I know I can work much (if not all) of this in rules or overrides, but I personally believe, that the less I have to use rules and overrides, the better the game is.

I'm able to drag & drop my players in the depth chart on my Android. It's a little tedious, but it works.

I actually spend probably over 75% of my time with MFN on my phone. It is so convenient when I am in town waiting for appointments, waiting for my kids, even a quick half hour stop at Starbucks.......anything like that. Having it on my phone allows me to put that much more time into it when time is idle.

You can get the desktop version by turning your phone horizontal, but that makes controlling it all with your phone nearly impossible. As someone mentioned, when your phone is vertical, It does rank your players for you when choosing positions.........very useful. As Tarq pointed out, you can simply drag potential players in a slot to quickly see their number. Or you can click the positions tab on players to see their best positions. The only real complaint I have with the phone is the difficulty of trying to move the sliders to exactly the number you want.
