Most of the time acceleration is going to be more important than speed - speed is basically the velocity that the player maxes out at, acceleration (combined with the player's weight) is how fast he gets there. If acceleration is low then a player will rarely even get to his max speed especially if it is high.
I need to put 40-times on the player cards, that would be a fairly trivial calculation, I just haven't gotten around to it.
Sadly, if you add 40 Times you might as well add 10 Yard Splits (how fast they cover the first 10 in a 40)...
which may then lead to people wondering where the 3 Cone Drill is (a greater measure of agility/acceleration than speed).
Not that I'm opposed to this... just more work on your part.
How hard would a 'STR' measure be, if you used a generic Combine Bench Press to illustrate it?
A 100 STR WR at 186 Pounds might get 15 Reps on 225 (which for a guy that small is good) while you expect the 300 Pound DT with 100 STR to hit 30+ Reps kind of thing.
Maybe Stamina influences these as well, you see a 100 STR DT at 300 Pounds but he's only rocking 25 Reps... he just gets to tired to showcase his full STR potential?
I know, I know... I keep adding things that are exceedingly difficult. :D But I do feel they had value. (Vert is also a very good indicator of Strength, much better for RBs and DBs than Bench, for Explosiveness).
It would be a chore, but I'm sure if you had the time you could do a 'Combine'... maybe even some neat stuff with QBs. Perhaps we could use some kind of System to go to 'Pro Days' to get more information?
I'm just getting into coding, so I know this stuff isn't exactly easy. You've got to be hating my posts. LOL! :D
