GG Broncos/BNUG, The chiefs snacth defeat from the jaws of victory yet again in the final 5 minutes or less...............................................MM
Ive never figured out how the Power Rankings are calculated by the Ai, but the Giants moved up 19 spots this week, Mid Week 8 sim, its biggest jump one of my teams has made that Ive ever noticed as I dont look at the Power Rankings much. The Giants were at the bottom when I started with them and now are at #9 after the 4 wins in a row. Hope we keep movin in the same direction. With the next highest jump, the Texans moved up 12 to the #5 spot! Third best were the Vikings, who jumped 8 spots to #16. Both the Giants and Vikings were bottom dwellers last season but have turned it around quickly with new owners and roster re-builds this season. The old guy in the Giants pic is somewhat of a resemblance, lol, .... nah, well, maybe a little, ha!
The Power rankings are so broken right along with trade scores.
I mean seriously the two 7-0 teams are 4th and 7th with the Chargers (7--0) dropping 5 spots this week?!?!? And the Browns (7-0) dropping 1 spot?!?!?
Ok.... you can think it's their opponents which dropped both these 7-0 teams. The Chargers did beat 0-6 Green Bay but the score was 37-9. An undefeated team is undefeated regardless but then the Browns beat the 5-1 Bengals....so why drop that undefeated team a spot.
Then you could say, statistically they just don't measure up right??? But the Chargers are 3rd/16th on total offense and defense while the Browns are 12th/7th. Thats a combined 19th for both which ranks them tied for 6th in the league. The best overall ranking is the 5-2 Bengals at 4th/4th who the Browns just beat moving the Bengals up 5 spots????? Huh?!?!?!
Now the top team is Atlanta who nobody will argue with ranked 1st/21st coming off a lose while Carolina is #2 after squeezing out a win over Atlanta but ranked 11th/20th and are 5-2 with a split with Atanta which is understandable but they also lost to the Bears (3-4) with total rankings of 8th/25th.
So while an argument can be made for Atlanta #1...what's the aruguement for Carolina (5-2) outranking 2 undefeated teams????
So finally you think maybe wins/loses aren't factored in or even total offense/defense is a mute factor....maybe it's just point differential....maybe it's that easy....nah!!!!
Finally, you just give up making sense about the power rankings because they simply have no known logic.
Power rankings are a mess which can be ignored but in the end that's where the point spreads come from in the game....and they max out at -14 as to not get college spreads.
So if you wanna get upset at the game....check out the Power Ranking and start asking what the **** are they based on???
GG Steelers/trslick, we are both having tough seasons u to this point. Still lots of time. Give em **** my frtiend!...............................................................MM
