My way finding that bid:

- sliders far right
- manual input of very high base salary
- engine tells you maximum possible salary (base + bonus) for each year
- adjust base salary to meet above mentioned maximum

Still I don't know the algorithm how and why someone's chosen to win the bid, if several GMs made exactly the same bid.
