Paydirt Rookie League

I've seen a few posts from rookie gm's getting frustrated by being squashed by vets.

What do you guys think about a rookie league?

There's a lot of pro's, cons and different ways to do this or not to do this.

Give me your pros, cons and ways to do and not to do stuff.

As someone that has spent a few hours putting together help guides over the past year or so, I'm against rookie leagues. The only way you become competitive at this game is figuring out what works and what doesn't work.

i agree with seth. you can destroy someone by the name of "buttsbobsburgers" every game and be totally unprepared against seth or dash

If a rookie league is formed, I suggest that no trades be allowed for the first few seasons. It's a sure fire way to result in GMs focussing on game planning and the use of overrides, rather than some Quixotic quest to build a roster of superstars through trades - which just isn't possible if there are knowledgeable competing GMs (and always results in the newbie getting the short end of the stick).

I can get behind this.

Ya i think no trades is a good idea also.

My thoughts were to create their own website that has links to Paydirt with access to an organized library of setherick's and any other guides with authors permission. I think it would help them with it all in one place vs searching all over for it.

Now I wouldn't want to use this as a feeder league. Because I like our hire n fire system and that would affect it. Speaking of which(hi-jack alert), I'm working on adding GM contracts to our hire n fire system. Add some incentives to them that mirrors our current rules as close as possible. Maybe with a franchise value system to make things even more interesting. That is quite a ways away yet. There's a lot to think about with this.

Once I get it figured out so it fits Paydirt, I'll put it up for debate to get some feedback. But that's another story.

As far as this rookie league keep your guys thoughts a rollin.
