You're right running backs are no where near the top of the leader board in catches: https://www.espn.com/nfl/stats/player/_/view/offense/stat/receiving/table/receiving/sort/receptions/dir/desc

The problem with these overly generalized statements about the current state of the game is that they don't reflect good game planning anyway. The people that are running into the "RBs catch all my *****" haven't diversified their game plans enough to find all the plays that work - and work well - and that throw to the TE and WRs. You can build a game plan that primarily targets your best WR and best TE, but it takes some game planning. But not really any more game planning than 3.x - 4.3 required.

Point being what you advised me about the 221 TE Med & Long passes, the pass goes to the RB in the flat on the left, and that should not be the case imho. Two of the most consistent and successful plays are the HB Flares, and 90%+ are thrown to the RB in the right flat. This was not the situation with 4.3 and earlier. I agree that you can gameplan to target your best WR & TE, but it shouldnt take anymore time and effort than necessary and overall, there should be more variety in the plays as to who the ball is thrown to, instead of one dominating receiver position per play. I would like to see the QB FOV attribute being utilized a lot more than it has been.

Great game marinaru/Falcons, our offense let the defense down, that's for sure. I thought the primary problem with the Packers was the secondary, but after that game Im thinking that the receiver group is the problem, which is what seems to generate more interceptions, regardless of the QB rating/ability. What a disaster the 3rd Qtr was for us. Think we used our luck up, but at least it was a good season again with the wild division finish. Off season will be real interesting to see what improvements we can make, got lots of open sal cap so wont be goin cheap on key blue chips. Best of luck in the next game and rest of the playoffs.

GG GrandadB! Thank you, we will need all the luck we can get from now on..... As i see it it was a lucky win for as, without the interceptions you were in clear control of the game..... good luck next season!

GG Chargers/jcruz a real tough one for us. However our defense is not what it once was. Good game plan sir. The West needs some one to go all the way. Bring one home for us!.....................................................MM

GG, MM. Each of our matches this season could have gone either way and you deserved better.

We don’t have a realistic chance of winning a championship this season as we too go through a rebuild. And RL has kept me from being active as well.

The Paydirt Report: Playoff Edition

What a game in San Diego. The crowd is still buzzing from yesterdays thriller. A 6 yd TD pass from QB Eric Young to WR Shawn Lund with :26 left to go in the game wins it for the Chargers 13-10. The bad news is that play put the hero receiver Lund out of the rest of the playoffs with a serious neck injury when he head butted the goal post in his celebration dance. He was carted off the field and was seen lifting his finger stating the the Chargers are number one. Which finger it was is still being debated between media outlets. While everyone was celebrating the Chiefs moved down to the Chargers 38 yd line with a couple of QB Walter Azevedo passes to set up a 55 yd FG attempt to tie the game. Kicker Steven Bennett would have plenty of leg behind it but missed it wide right as the clock expired.

In the other Wild Card match ups: Miami outscored Houston 38-24, Seattle trounced Detroit 30-6 and Atlanta knocked out defending Super Bowl Champions Green Bay 20-17.

Divisional Round Games
Miami will travel to cold Buffalo to face the Bills for the 3rd time this year. Buffalo has won both games in this rivalry this regular season and stole the division crown from the Dolphins who had owned it since 1976. There are still rumors that Androwski might be heading out of Miami at the end of the year. But those rumors have not been confirmed.

San Diego will head to Cincinnati for the second game of the AFC Divisional Round. The Bengals narrowly defeated the Chargers at home earlier in the season 27-20. This should be a good game between a team that is riding high off of a thrilling Wild Card victory and a team that is well rested.

In the NFC, Seattle will travel south to face the Dallas Cowboys. The Seahawks handily defeated the Cowboys in the regular season 32-20 and after a decisive win over Detroit in the last round is looking to do more of the same. But the Cowboys have other ideas. There are also rumors swirling around the Dallas area that GM OffensiveTaco might be on his way out and looking for a new venue. Those also could not be confirmed by the Dallas media.

There are no rumors going around this game between Atlanta and Carolina. These two teams have been battling it out all year and now its time to settle it on the field. They split the season series with the Panthers winning the last meeting 40-10 which still sticks in the dirty birds craw. That is also the last time the Falcons have lost. Atlanta feels a little cheated by not coming home with their first Super South division title it the franchises history after both teams tied and a deep tie breaker settled the dispute. This is a must see TV game in Paydirt for sure.

WR Lund is a rookie who caught his 1st career TD to win the game. It was only his third catch of the season. He was activated to play just before game time. Meanwhile, FG Kicker Bennett's last second attempt to tie the game missed wide seemingly by only a few inches. Crazy game.
