So everybody uses their 300 pound DT's as a gunners except me? What type of player I'm supposed to line up? I hardly ever get punts blocked and I use my backups LB's, DE's and secondary players, who are usually fast.

The Paydirt Report: Week 1

The 1982 season kicked off with some big divisional games right out of the gate. Defending Super Bowl Champs go down in week one. Paydirt has 2 rookie GM's entering the season with Damion of Chicago winning the opener in a big way over a divisional foe Minnesota. Meanwhile the other rookie GM hectorg93 who is a former Paydirt B champion, loses to a veteran with the Saints.

The Game of the Week features the Jacksonville Jaguars winning a see-saw affair over the San Diego Chargers 27-23. Miguel Davis of Kansas City opened up the season 5 TD's 1 Int and 306 yds passing while rookie QB Richard Conrad for San Francisco comes into the league firing. He posted a 17-22 295 yds 4 TD 0 Int and a win. Carolina RB Pat Stacy led the rushers in week 1 with 120 yds. Atlanta's RB Bowers and San Diego's RB Butcher were Paydirts other 100 yd rushers.

Seattle's TE David Burch led the leagues receiving corp with 14 catches on the day. Washington's rookie WR Lloyd Crow followed with 12 and San Diego's TE Jean Parker had 11. The ole vet CB Moses Rodgers out of Detroit has a 3 Int day in their big win over rival Green Bay. And Buffalo's LB Charles Hendricks is at it again with 3 Int's of his own. Say whaaaaaaat? legendary LB Carlos Walker from Tampa Bay is not on the board in the Int column yet. But he did have 7 tackles in the Bucs huge Kickoff Weekend win over rival and defending Super Bowl champs Carolina Panthers.

With week 1 in the books, it is important for some teams to get out of the gate by week 4. Lets see how 1982 starts unfolds in the weeks to come.

Yes. It’s lining up small fast players at the ends and in the middle.

To counter this you need strong PB era that are fast and a punter that has very good punt timing.

Oh I see you BIG mad Lucky lmao. Good luck next game.

Setherick can you explain me what's the exploit with punt blocking? I just put my backups LB's and Secondary as gunners and I got a punt blocked this week but I don't know if I'm doing an exploit or what.

Punt timing doesn't matter. That's how long the ball will hang in the air. I'm pretty sure it's a combo of AC and SP that actually gets the kick off.

I’ve lost twice games in this league due to punt blocks. I’ve blocked one punt total EVER before this game. So I’m not doing anything everyone was already doing to me.

I'm not mad at you. I know how to counter it, but didn't look closely enough at my punt return team or punter until now.

So what to do then? This is what makes it exploitable when nobody has a clue what to do about it. My punter is as good as it gets.. you mean i now have to sacrifice the abilities related to punting the ball for acc and speed to counter something that shouldn't be happening in the first place??

https://paydirt.myfootballnow.com/player/5089

86 speed, 46 acc, he's a punter.. 100 timing, punt strength and punt accuracy.. he still got blocked and almost blocked on every kick. And it was only his backups gunning lol.

Looking forward to you making it right.

I claimed him with the hopes of trading him to Chicago for peanuts. I knew there would be several claims.

I think Chicago will have priority on the waiver wire so hopefully this is all moot.

Don't you think it's easier to not claim him and let Damion get his player again? How are you going to trade him back again for peanuts if his trade score is 1620?

The same thing everyone was talking about with giving this DE back to the new guy for "good sportsmanship". you know, a verbal agreement between all of us to not do something for the betterment of the game and experience of others, setting aside our own selfishness.

F that though.

The problem is that it's seems not all of us agree with that one. Of course I'm going to claim him before letting him go to a random team.

The right thing to do would have been let him go unclaimed to Chicago. But you thought it would be better if you could get something back in the process. Now, please enlighten me: how would you trade him back to Chicago for "peanuts" without making him go over the cap?

Some owners in this league hate me without a reason so why not keep him? :)
