The Paydirt Report: Week 1The 1982 season kicked off with some big divisional games right out of the gate. Defending Super Bowl Champs go down in week one. Paydirt has 2 rookie GM's entering the season with Damion of Chicago winning the opener in a big way over a divisional foe Minnesota. Meanwhile the other rookie GM hectorg93 who is a former Paydirt B champion, loses to a veteran with the Saints.
The Game of the Week features the Jacksonville Jaguars winning a see-saw affair over the San Diego Chargers 27-23. Miguel Davis of Kansas City opened up the season 5 TD's 1 Int and 306 yds passing while rookie QB Richard Conrad for San Francisco comes into the league firing. He posted a 17-22 295 yds 4 TD 0 Int and a win. Carolina RB Pat Stacy led the rushers in week 1 with 120 yds. Atlanta's RB Bowers and San Diego's RB Butcher were Paydirts other 100 yd rushers.
Seattle's TE David Burch led the leagues receiving corp with 14 catches on the day. Washington's rookie WR Lloyd Crow followed with 12 and San Diego's TE Jean Parker had 11. The ole vet CB Moses Rodgers out of Detroit has a 3 Int day in their big win over rival Green Bay. And Buffalo's LB Charles Hendricks is at it again with 3 Int's of his own. Say whaaaaaaat? legendary LB Carlos Walker from Tampa Bay is not on the board in the Int column yet. But he did have 7 tackles in the Bucs huge Kickoff Weekend win over rival and defending Super Bowl champs Carolina Panthers.
With week 1 in the books, it is important for some teams to get out of the gate by week 4. Lets see how 1982 starts unfolds in the weeks to come.
