Guys, this recent off-season has been horrendous and certainly not fun for myself and others in the league. Some GM's have been very vocal about their frustrations.
When I started this gig I set out with 4 goals in mind:
1) To make it fair for everybody across the board and not show any sort of favoritism. Which is the reason why I refused to take a team in my own league. That way any decisions that had to be made were assured to be unbiased.
2) To welcome everybody. It didn't matter if you were one of MFN's top GM's, if you were a newbie, if you were somewhere in between, if you had quit before, or if you were shunned by other leagues for whatever reason. It didn't matter, you were welcomed.
3) To develop the most challenging league that we could. I also wanted to develop a 3 tier ladder system which we only got to it's infancy stages. The Hire n Fire rule, the CC and trade review system and the trade limit that we had in place was all for the purpose of the challenge. The trade limit out preformed any expectation that I had for it. The idea was that the restriction would force GM's to make deals with more peeps instead of just more trades with less peeps. Hence more interactions and more action. It went above and beyond.
4) And the most important of the 4 goals was to have fun. The write-ups, the website, the tracking of records etc..... was all done for one purpose only. And that was to make it fun.
That brings us to this conclusion. I have already expressed my concerns to the admin team a couple days ago and after sleeping on it two nights before that and two nights since I sent them the pm, I've decided to shut down this Paydirt project. The frustrations have been over taxing and wait for it............not fun at all.
Ive played this silly lil game with some tremendous GM's here from the admin side anyways. I don't want to get long and mushy over this but you guys have been flippin awesome and thank you for that. I especially want to thank all of you that served on the CC and all you had to put up with. Both from me and the rest of the league. It was a thankless job and you guys went out of your way to get the job done. Peeps forget sometime how valuable a persons time is. And you guys would use time to do these deeds. You guys helped the league go. Much thanks.
From this point on, Paydirt is officially dissolved and Paydirt B will follow suit.
Paydirt B will go through their league championship game. You guys are welcome to finish the season out aka public league style if you want. I will not admin anything that goes on. New GM's will not be accepted so if the league drops below the min. sim limit I will remove the remaining GM's and wrap this thing up at that point. I will be tearing down the rest of the league as time goes by. Ive already started on some of it.
