I laid out some of my original thoughts about this potential trade in another thread about a contested tread. So I won't rehash that here.
I did make a second offer to MVR last night, which I thought was much more equitable. Since the first offer sat out there for several days, I didn't think it was going to be accepted, so I made a different offer. Then this morning he accepted the first one I made.
Is this a bad trade for Miami? Probably. I would have taken my second offer over this one. But he made that choice because he didn't like the QBs $10 mil salary.
He made it known he was willing to trade the first pick. EVERY owner in the league had a chance to make an offer. Maybe you all did, I don't know. But he accepted this one.
My point is that this trade couldn't have been more out in the open. MVR asked for offers for number one. I announced in another thread that I made an offer. So again, everyone else could have done the same thing. I just wanted him to know I was interested in moving up. Honestly I did not think it would be accepted. Maybe MVR doesn't understand that you can make a counter offer, I don't know. But to be clear, there was certainly no shenanigans/collusion going on here. Maybe a bad trade for one team, but no collusion.
