A 2nd round pick was too much for an 8th year WR but the real problem is this WR is in the last year of his contract which means he will be asking a ton of bonus money to stay on his team.
It's a catch 22 because to make the trade worth it, you need to resign him. His speed will drop over the next few seasons but his all around pass catching attributes mean he can excel at WR#1 the next 2 seasons when his speed drops.....but to keep him will cost you and he is already at 10% retirement.
For those that don't know, WR#1 just isn't targeted much in the plays that actually work in MFN and a great receiver (100 pass catch/B&R/Punish/route running) does better at the WR#1 position will sub 80 speed. WR#2 is where your fastest receiver should go because the money plays (FL Hitch etc) target WR#2 in this game.
MEATMAN is correct....this is a win now trade. If a team that has made the playoffs and fallen just short made this trade then I would understand it but someone trying to figure it all out and maybe finish 8-8...it's a waste!
I'm not asking for any action or review but it is poor judgement
