Here's an idea that we used to use in one of the FOF leagues I was in to mimick the RL world of being a GM. It was quite a hit and so much so, that a waiting list had to be utilized. That system would have to be adapted to MFN as FOF is different. More details if applicable.

Here it is briefly and tell me what you think:

Hiring and Firing of GM's

GM's could get fired for under-performing for 3 consecutive season.
Once fired they would go to the back of the waiting list.
No more than 3 GM's could be fired in a given season. And at least one if there is someone on the waiting list.

There are several ways to determine when a GM can be fired. You could use one, all or any combo of conditions to apply
.
A) If they have a winless season.
B) If they have 3 consecutive seasons with less than 5 wins
C) If they have 4 consecutive seasons with less than 7 wins
D) If they have 5 consecutive seasons under .500
E) If they have 6 consecutive seasons not making the playoffs
F) If a GM takes over a playoff team and miss the playoffs for 3 consecutive seasons.
G) 3 League Conduct violations. Of course we still have to develop these.
H) No GM can fired in their first 3 seasons with exception of rule F.
I) If no one is on the waiting list each GM will retain their tenure with exception of rule F.
J) Once a GM is fired from their team they may not be hired by that same franchise for 3 seasons.

Fire away..............Get it....... Fire away. See what I did right there.

I won't put this one into the Rules Proposal Section until we discuss it first.

I like these. Sounds pretty fair. Assuming GM meaning us the owner. I seen a guy on here that is in 10 leagues and i dont think he has one a single game yet. Unless hes tanking for rebuilding, im not a fan of tanking. I still feel the point is always to win the championship. But im all about it. This league looks like its going to be great fun. I love the website and all of that. Keep it up

I like this concept. Puts some risk in the game.

Same reason real coaches and GM's do in real life. To compete.

Edit: sorry was in a hurry when I wrote this. Had to go somewhere that day.
GM's can try their luck with another team as well. And it give the league a lil more real feel to it.

In response to the coaches' concerns about firing people with no-one on the waiting list....

"I) If no one is on the waiting list each GM will retain their tenure with exception of rule G."

If no-one is wanting to join the league, then this rule becomes moot unless the coach is found guilty of 3 League Conduct Violations

with the commissioner being on point like he is and the solid owners thru out will make this an attractive league to join. Their will never be a problem finding a willing owner to take over a team. No other leagues have ever enforced any sort of rules like these ones except LG 75 and NCAA and they are two of the more popular and active leagues in the sites history.
