Good Game Browns... Surprised by the outcome of the game as I was expecting it to be a lot closer than it turned out to be, even with Cleveland having a down year. I even started all my starters (this late into the season and playing some teams I feel are easier wins I play more cautious with injured players). Never expected to hold your offense to only 96 yards of total offense.
As for your rookie QB situation, I wouldn't worry too much. I'm absolutely baffled by the player progression in this game and have no idea in what drives the attributes progression. There's no telling which players will progress and which ones will take a little longer, for example, my 2nd round rookie
QB Dewey Sherer after training camp was basically maxed out in all his pending attributes. I was stunned at how much he'd progressed, even a little upset as the accuracy potential would've probably hit 100 had he been a bit slower progressing. It's definitely strange that
QB Merrill Paulson is still at 53/100 Pass Accuracy potential. One thing I think that definitely would help is a change of HC as I've noticed they do make a difference in progression (Not to be mistaken with whether they'll boom or bust). I noticed that your HC is only at a 73 Pass Accuracy which could be a reason as to why Paulson's pass accuracy is so slow to develop... Granted my HC only has 73 Pass Accuracy as well...
Regardless, I think I've experimented enough with QB's to find out that you should rarely if ever, start a Rookie QB. QB Sherer and QB Woods of the Chiefs are both Rookie QB's who I'd consider close to fully progressed have struggled in their mini stints starting for their teams. QB Cardiel of the Eagles who lacks pass accuracy has struggled in his time on the field as well. Only QB Blosser of the Patriots has done well in his starts and I think that's simply due to him starting so late in the season as well as being decently developed with 78/100 pass accuracy. QB Moses of the Lions I'd consider the anomaly of this rookie class as he's seemed to perform pretty well throughout the entire season.
So with the underdeveloped pass accuracy along with his play knowledge, I think that contributed to his 32% completion percentage. The knockdowns were most definitely attributed to his also underdeveloped ability to Look off Defense and his average FOV+INT probably lead to those throws into tight coverage. I absolutely agree with you that a 1.96 QBR is absolutely ridiculous and realistically he should've been pulled by halftime after going 6/16 with 3 INT's.
In my personal opinion of QB's, the QB attributes I value the most are, in order: Intelligence, Pass Accuracy, FOV, Pass Release, Scrambling Skill, Look Off Defense, Speed/Acceleration, and Pass Strength. With experience playing a large part in my decision of who to start.
Final Notes:Dear Saints,
