Tough one Washington. Those overuse and penalties gave you a big hill to climb.

NO is happy with this new found run ran. Bryant picked up where he left off in the preseason.

GG Seahawks/awest, tale of 2 halfs, we were in it at the half. Ironic that we had to open against Sully, and he tore it up in the 2nd half. Becker being out made it tougher on the rest of the offense, he was half our offense last season. At least my QB didnt go 0-50, lol. cheers & gl rest of the season, you're looking real good for the playoffs.

Week 1 is always a **** shoot. Vet GMs use a wide array of plays so scouting is a guessing game. Same goes for run/pass. Always good to wrk out a week 1 win.

GG Bills. Losing the first game of the season against a divisional rival with my new QB throwing 3 INT's... yikes.

[quote="Beercloud"]GG Minnesota

You guys dominated the game but that opening kickoff return for a TD was a killer. The downside to the win is the 49ers lost the no. 1 overall pick in the draft for seven weeks due to an ankle injury. And the 49ers are thin back there as it is. yikes

Yes tough loss but you made plays when were needed,i also lost TE Lewis for 5 weeks.
Better days are ahead.....i hope soo

The Paydirt Report: Week 1

We always look back at the early part of the season when a team misses the playoffs by a game. Sometimes it comes down to one play that determines a teams playoff fate. And this week will be no exception. Some perennial playoff contenders, division rivals and a few early season upsets have set the tone going into the 1979 season. Will they make a difference in the end. We shall see.

AFC West
Denver(1-0) takes down divisional powerhouse San Diego(0-1) to get an early jump in the Wild West along with Kansas City(1-0) who had a blowout win over Tennessee. Oakland(0-1) losses to defending Super Bowl champion Cleveland in their opener on the road.

AFC East
Buffalo(1-0) defeated defending division champion and rival Miami(0-1) as the Dolphins fell just short of their comeback bid. The Jets(1-0) wins a thriller in overtime as New England(0-1) takes a tough lose in Detroit.

AFC North
The reigning Super Bowl Champions Cleveland(1-0) picked up where they left off as the rebuilding Bengals(1-0) wins their home opener over division foe Pittsburgh(0-1). Baltimore(0-1) loses a heart breaker to Atlanta.

AFC South
Defending South Champion Houston(1-0) welcomed Jacksonville(0-1) and their new GM greyghost1225 to the division with a 29-6 trouncing. Both Tennessee(0-1) and Indianapolis(0-1) go down in their openers.

NFC East
Philadelphia(1-0) opens the season all alone in first. I don't remember a time when I saw the Eagles name at the top even if it's just one game into the season. Dallas(0-1), Giants(0-1) and redskins(0-1) all lose in their season kickoff games.

NFC West
Seattle(1-0) dominates the defending North Champs Green Bay to stake their share of the West lead with Arizona(1-0) who won a close one with Los Angeles(0-1) and San Francisco(1-0).

NFC West
Detroit(1-0) has sole possession of the North. The Lions were extremely busy this off-season turning over their roster and as of week one, it has paid off. Green Bay(0-1), Minnesota(0-1) and Chicago(0-1) all lose.

NFC South
All W's for the South in week 1. Atlanta(1-0) and Carolina(1-0) in close ones while New Orleans(1-0) and defending South champion Tampa Bay(1-0) win in blowouts.

Games to Watch Week 2
All of em

GG Eagles, your drive ending the 3rd was a killer.

Disappointing loss for the Colts at home. Colts out gained the Eagles by around a hundred yards, but missed an extra point, threw a pick near their own red zone, fumbled away a punt near their own red zone, and made a mind boggling decision in the Eagles red zone that made me nearly fire Stanton!

Late in the game trailing 22-12, the Colts had the ball 4th and 10 on the Eagles 12 yard line and decided to go for it! Compounding the stupid decision was that Bonilla took a one step drop and threw an immediate one yard pass. Of course the Colts get the ball back and score what should have been the tying touchdown with seconds remaining.
