Not for nothing but Wayne Strickland LB Indianapolis had 142 tackles to lead the league as a rookie. More than twice as many (67) as the rookie of the year from Buffalo.

Yes and then there is my boy RB Triplett, 1200 total yards behind a rookie offensive line, but I am sure he will join them along with your WR on the all rookie team.

LB Hendricks , drafted #2 , busted and hurt his arm game 5. He put 62 tackles and 5 ints in less than 1/2 a season . He was effective lurking that middle vs the pass.

It is sad, but I have seen many times a rookie of the year, mvp, etc. candidate lose out due to injury, it happens. I can't speak for all ROY possibilities on the defensive side, but this is one of the reasons there is an offensive and defensive ROY. The numbers are almost impossible to compare in terms of value.

That's crazy awesome, but it's rookie of the year not rookie of 5 weeks. I could list probably a hundred guys in pro sports who missed out on season and/or career awards because of injury.

I've been told Strickland has a huge chip on his shoulder for 79.

Speculation on players not playing is always questionable. Speculation says that if Mayfield plays an entire season, he wins offensive ROY last season if starting at the beginning of the season. Speculation could also say that if he played in game 2 he gets injured and is out for the season. It is a double edge sword. Speculation didn't compare DROY Leonard and OROY Barkley, who was best rookie, because it can't be done.

A lil controversy with the awards this year. Gotta love it. You guys should lobby your conference reps and the PR dept before they vote. To maybe sway em a lil. :)

Speaking of which, this is the season an election year for reps.
